Soooooo, Blooborne is an amazing game.  It also doesn't have any music, except in the only safe zone and during boss fights, but wow, when the soundtrack does come on, it's fantastic.

I've been meaning to buy this game (and the other Dark Souls/Demon's Souls games in general because they remind me of Berserk a fair bit), but I have listened to the entire ost, and I'll have to agree that it's pretty awesome!

And on the topic of osts, I'm curious as to if anyone here has listened to the ost for the Satoshi Kon film, Paprika? The music was done by Susumu Hirasawa and it's one of my absolute favorites. Here's a few tracks to give you an example:

Does anyone else ever just...K-pop?

Its not even the kind of music I usually listen to. It just...happens, you know?
Just wondering if there was anyone else who experienced this musical dilemma.

Roisin :  Also meant to ask: is the the 'Notingham Town' song the one that in England they call 'Nottamun Town'? The riddle/puzzle song with the nonsense statements that come across a bit like Zen koans? With the bit that goes 'Not a soul would look up/ not a soul would look down/ to show me the way to fair Nottamun Town' and the beautiful eerie tune? I love that song!

Yes it is a variant of Nottamun Town.

A ripping, A ridding along a gray mare.
With a white mane and tail and a stripe down her back
And every hair on her was right coal black.

The mare standing still, threw me in a ditch.
Bruised my shirt and muddied my skin.
But I mounted to my saddle and stirrups again
And on my ten toes rode over the plains.

I met with a king and a parcel of others
To ask them my way to fair Nottingham Town
But they were so proud they could scarcely look down
To tell me the way to fair Nottingham Town

(fragment) 3rd and 4th line
While a naked man a drumming before them did run
His heels in his pockets a beating a drum.

I rode into town. Not a one did I see.
Ten thousand around me just a gazing at me.
I called some wine to drive gladness away.
To clear up the dust, it had been raining all day.

I sat myself down on a hot frozen stone.
A thousand around me and me all alone.
I took off my head for to keep my hat warm.
And so dear girl will you marry me now.
The same as the day that a followed the plow.

I love "Nottamun Town" too.  So strange and haunting.  I'll try to find a version by the American folk group Oak Ash and Thorn -- I bet you'd like it.
"The music of what happens," said great Fionn, "that is the finest music in the world."

I really loved this! If my memory serves me( I have been known to forget what day it is, or what time it is right after checking) then is it to the tune of... the elements song? maybe?

Roisin, there is also in this group of songs a lullaby about a kitty. I have no clue of the age and origin of the song

Once there was a little Kitty
White as the snow
In the barn she used to frolic
Long time ago.

Two bright eyes had little Kitty
All a glow
And they spied a little Mousey
Long time ago.

Two soft paws had little Kitty
Soft as the snow
And they caught that little Mousey
Long time ago.

Pearly teeth had little Kitty
All in a row
And they bit that little Mousey
Long time ago.

When they bit that little Mousey
Mousey cried, "Oh!" (make this exclaimation real high and squeaky)
And he got away from Kitty
Long time ago.

I have to figure out how I can get a midi recording in a format to load here. Maybe I can use it to create a YouTube.

Does anyone here listen to Poets of the Fall? They're my favorite band, and they're based in Finland. Unfortunately they're not very well known in the US, but in Finland and the surrounding countries they're pretty popular. They're an indie rock band.

This was propably the song that really made me fall in love with violins in music since just wow.

Anything can be better with a violin; Metal, Pop... Anything.

oh man, this song played like every five seconds on every single radio station in norway the whole of 2009...... I was so angry because I love this type of fiddling, but I grew to hate the song with an intensity of a thousand suns very quick.

But yes. violins truly do improve anything

Oh god, I could say so much about music.
I'll just recommend a few songs.

Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros:
Not a valid vimeo URL
The Shining by Badly Drawn Boy (in fact, all of Hour of the Bewilderbeast):
/>
If you like heavier stuff, Breed by Nirvana:
/>
For one of the best basslines I've ever heard, and also a very odd music video (en mi opinion), Dangerous by Big Data:
/>
And Jay-Z as you've never quite heard him before, 99 Problems from the Grey Album by DJ Dangermouse (a mashup of Jay-Z's Black Album and the Beatles' White Album):
/>
(Didn't embed the videos so as not to take up half the page.)
