I can make a foam craft tutorial once I get back from Sweden, it's much easier than might seem at first glance, all you need is a little bit of inner engineer to think of how the parts go together. The outcome is soft, convincingly thick looking, light and can even take some amount of abuse before any damage occurs.

Ooh, that would actually be very cool. I think practice is more valuable than knowing the principles though.

Uuf so tired... but now the hardest part is done. After all the responsibilities I've walked around the con til my feet hurt,  taken loads of photos of great cosplays and eaten a gazillion mochi ice creams in various flavours (another thing that Iceland doesn't have). I've also spoken accidentally both Icelandic and Finnish to people and made some feeble attemps at Swedish. Now waiting for the rest of the team to show up so we could go get some food.

I've missed conventions so much!

Conventions are AMAZING. You don't even realize how exhausted you are because you're just surrounded by awesome people and awesome stuff and it's super easy to walk up to a total stranger and compliment them!

Okay so, after a few hours questioning my knowledge of basic geometry, I've made a pattern for Lalli's hood/hat (or at least the base). _{it was actually deceptively easy...} Unfortunately I can't post it because I made it out of an old newspaper so here's some instructions I guess:

First, find a jumper with a hood that's around the size you want. Fold the hood flat along the seam and draw around it.
Mark off a third of the way down the "open" edge of your traced shape. This is where the triangle bit will come to.
Draw two diagonal lines from the bit you just marked and the top of the open edge to an equidistant point roughly 10cm away.

And if I've explained this clearly enough, you should now have a shape that will be half of the white base of Lalli's hat/hood. I can't put the picture of mine up at the moment but it's on my tumblr here.

Sorry that I'm not interacting much with people, I miss that a lot, I just have limited time and even more limited patience for inetting via phone (I've almost reported Gwenno once and Fimby twice to moderators by accidentally hitting buttons).

Today's mostly free time and I'm planning to spend it in Reynir cosplay,  let's see if I can find more SSSS fans! Also hoping for cold weather please, this costume is just wool on wool.
