Microwaves, huh! I first encountered them when I moved in with my second husband back in the early 1980s. My previous house had a woodstove, and I was quite accomplished with that, but not very au fait with modern tech. He, on the other hand, was a single man with all mod cons, and he was a very bad cook, so he used the microwave a lot. Yes, I microwaved an egg. Messy.
Nowadays I use it for vegetables only, having discovered that whatever the microwave does to protein renders it indigestible, at least to me.
I never did get used to all my husband's gadgets. We won't talk about what happened when I tried to clean his teflon-coated cookware....
