Thanks guys! I too am worried about Wavewright, and hope she is okay. At least I have heard from my relatives who live on a farm near Wellington. They are a little shaken by the earthquake, but so far not badly damaged. Relieved!

The Cromer fire is still going, we can still see smoke, but it is mostly out, I think.

Fire is out, we still have a fire weather warning, which means hot dry windy weather, maybe with dry lightning. Total fire ban of course. No barbecues or burning off. Hopefully we won’t get too much more. Forecast for today is 37C+, windy. I do wish it would rain.

Argh, here we go again! We had thought the Cromer fire was out, but smoke is visible again, and Lucky Hit Road, Cromer is listed as having a 4 vehicle fire going. Damn and blast!

Thanks mate. It has been a bad day topping a bad week, but with any luck tomorrow will be better. It is presently 0240, I am tired, sore and disgruntled, but am finally getting to bed. Now if I can get some sleep……. Just at present there are no notifications for fires near me, just a few trees down and vehicle accidents, so the night is quieter. Star is asleep, Agatha the cat is safely inside and fed, and a bit of peace will be welcome! Keep safe everyone.
