"Michael Row the Boat Ashore," SSSS-style.
(For reference, Pete Seeger's version)

It all started on p. 318, with Reynir in a boat:

Ceceoh
He'll row the boat ashore. Hallelujah.

A bunch of us chimed in, and ended up with this:

Reynir, row the boat ashore, Hallelujah!
Reynir, row the boat ashore, Hallelujah.

Tuuri, help to trim the sail, Hallelujah. (etc.)

Sigrun cast the rope ashore, Hallelujah!  (etc.)

Mr. Mikkel's deep and wide, Hallelujah.
Carrots and tuna on the other side. Hallelujah

Mageworld river is chilly and cold, Hallelujah!
Won't hurt the body but can kill the soul. Hallelujah.

Mageworld river is deep and wide, Hallelujah!
Mages' chatroom on the other side, Hallelujah.

Credits: Kathy Megar-Kestner, Ceceoh, your humble servant.

Reynir rests on a rock
Biting the starry sky.
Drowned rope streamers
Tugged over the edge
To dance in the swirl of the fall.
Ice floats silently by
Surrenders to the void.

Splish Splash by Bobby Darin (with a few small changes)

Splish, splash
It was takin' a bath
Long about a reverie night... yeah!
Rub-a-dub
Just relaxin' in the tub
Thinkin' everything was all right.

Well... I stretched out my legs
Put my feet on the ship
I wrapped the braid around me
And it started to drip.

And... then-a... splish, splash
There's a thing from the rash
Well... how was I to know
There was a nightmare going on.

It was a splishin' and a splashin'
Reelin' with the paws in
Huffin' and a puffin'
Decayin' and a rottin'... yeah!

Bing, bang
With the horrible fangs
Dancin' on my dreamin night boat... yeah...
Flip flop
I was tryin' to stop
All the teeth had my wits at my end.

There was boney dog with-a furry coat
All soggy, bad doggy was-a hardly there, too!
A-well-a.... splish, splash
I just wanted to dash
I just wanted to wake, I was scared... yea!

It was a trollin' and a rollin'
Reelin' with the paws in
Huffin' and a puffin'
Decayin' and a rottin'... yeah!

Yes... it was a splishin' and a splashin'
It was a trollin' and a rollin'
Yeah... It was a huffin' and a puffin' ... boo!
We was a reelin' with the feelin'... wa!
We was a trollin' and a rollin'
Huffin' and a puffin'
Splish, splash... yeah!

It was a splishin' and a splashin'... one time...
It was a splishin' and a splashin'... boo-hoo!
It was a moultin' and revoltin'...

Dark Beast

It is revealed
He does dream after all!
Keep your eyes peeled
Endless waterfall
Vast dark space
You feel really small
This faraway place
Hope that he can recall

Maybe if he tries
He can do something more
Than in the boat lie
Bereft of wood oars
That look in his eyes
What's waiting in store?
Maybe he can surprise
As the dark water pours

What's that? "Splish spla-",
What's that sound?
Uh, "Hrf nh unh"
Nightmare beast-hound
Dog gone astray
Has it been drowned?
Just keep it away
Don't wanna turn around

Run! Dream's no Fun

All alone in this place remote
Reynir nearly jumps out of his hair
The skull-dog climbs in the boat,
It's a beast creature! Beware!
Leave! Before it grabs your throat
This vessel, don't want to share!
Seeing above the water he floats
"Wondering what on earth?" as he stares
Dreams aren't all safe, better take note
Just escape on a wing and a prayer
Bony and matted, like a shaggy old goat
Just fur and bones, senses impaired?
Out the beast lets a rather unhappy note
As he legs it real quick right out of there
No time to stay, hang on to your coat
Sprint quickly now, no time to spare
Have no fighting skills, it can't be smote
"Dreaming is terrible!" Reynir declares
After he screamed out at the top of his throat
In this case, you're not wrong, braidy-hair!

------------------------------------------

Run, Run, Run by the Who (with a few small changes)

Run, run, run
Run, run, run
Run, run, run
Run, run, run

Well braidy, better take my advice
A pale beast crossed your path twice
Then you jumped out into the pool
At least you are not lingering like a fool

[chorus:]
You better run, run, run
Run, run, run
Run, run, run
Run, run, run

Well you ain't the luckiest guy I know
And you don't know at the moment which way to go
Your boat's infested with a beast dog attack
Now just keep on running on and don't look back

([chorus])

When you let that dreaming begin
Never thought what a mess it'd get you in
Little dog, little dog, demon pup
Because you stopped to let it up

([chorus])

Well now, Reynir, no helping you
I hope you believe that dreams come true
Whenever you run, it'll be running too
Whenever you run, it'll be following you

([chorus])

Run, run, run

ANDERSEN SCHMANDERSEN

Trond had a problem, expedition's on the line
The admiral offered help but there wasn't time

So the general took the roster and he scannin' down the list
So the general took the roster and he scannin' down the list
So the general took the roster and he scannin' down the list
And the general found his target and he radioed the Tuna Fish

TROND:
Said, "Captain, there's a trip you have to make"
He said, "Captain, there's a detour you must take"
He said, "Captain, here's the trip that you must make"
He said, "Kastrup.  And it's food you gotta take"

ASA:
Now lemme get this straight...
You sent a crew to the Silent World and screwed it all up
You sent a crew to the Silent World and screwed it all up
You sent a crew to the Silent World and screwed it all up
You botched the operation and you panicked, so you call me up

Say, "Captain, there's some aid you gotta take"
You say, "Captain, quarantine you gotta break"
You say, "Captain, there's some food you need to take"
"Age and booze has rot your brain, you think I fix your big mistake"

You and that admiral, you fix this mess together
You load a boat and paddle it and then you make it better
Or float it in a bottle then, I don't care what you do
But don't call me back because this conversation's through

Woo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo
Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo
Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo

TROND:
The general said, "I'm sorry but I'll have to drop a dime"
"You made a lot of money but you cannot do the time"
"I know the cargo carried and the guy you sold it to"
"And where the body's buried, so the choice is up to you"

ASA:
You stinkin' little weasel, you're a terrible old fool
You think you gonna blackmail me to do this deed for you?
You think you gonna blackmail me so you can make some money?
You think you gonna blackmail me you stupid mountain monkey?

TROND:
Take the food out to Kastrup and then you sail away
Take the food out to Kastrup or prepare for judgement day
Take the food out to Kastrup.  That's all I'm gonna say
Take the food out to Kastrup, or I'll see you on vis'ting day

ASA:
You put your @#$%@ in your @#$%#$ $#@#, you misbegotten @#$%^#@#$$!
@#$!#% the horse you rode in on, and @#$%$# your mother!
@#$%#$ $#@# your countrymen, they all are just like you!
@#$%#$ $#@# your partners, and your little doggie too!

I'll take your food out to Kastrup and I hope your crewmen choke!
I'll take your food out to Kastrup and I hope you end up broke!
I'll take your food out to Kastrup but that's the last I'll do
I'll take your food out to Kastrup and after that we're through!

If you contact me again, I will destroy you!
If you contact me again, I will destroy you!
If you contact me again, I will destroy you!
If you contact me again, I will destroy you!

The symbolized words are Icelandic.  I don't speak Icelandic but I'm sure they're all perfectly innocent.

From Page 318, a modification of the song "The Captive Mind" by Helio Sequence:

Fix to Fix that which broke apart
But you stopped and thought of the glasses crack and said,
"I don't know this, I cannot fix."
Pain the pain when you played the part
As she locked it all up and the medic came to say
"You just forget. Please sleep, okay."

Heed the words that he kept in mind
As you try to leave the past behind
The ship spun slightly, to catch one likely
To come dream again, come dream again

The same the same that it's always been
When you took a seat up what a world you find you in
Down falls water and ice astray
Blame the blame on a sleepy start
When you pack it all up and you make the start again
A call is out, a friend you say?

Read the words of the mage in mind
Could it be the one that stayed behind?
But souls spun slightly, they catch those likely
To call back again, call back again

You're in a boat
You're drifting so
The dream you built
The push and pull
Come back again
Come back again

Well you love the love what you could've stayed
You say you'd give it all up like the blood that live to slay
The Rash land beach and cat tank treads
Shame the shame when you helped her not
But you sat right up as the dreamer came to say,
"Please don't forget, just lay and wait"

Read the words of each mage in mind
both a man that feel they're left behind
But they spun slightly, they'll catch one likely
To come back again, please come back again

“Reynir Meets the Skulldog”
from “Little Saint Nick” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSynDh_K0EE
by the Beach Boys

Oooooooo
Reynir just met Skulldog
Dreams have come to our Reynir

Well way down south
Where the trolls are bold
Our Explorers met Reynir
Took him in their fold
While we wait for DerpCat
He got put to bed
Into the Dreamworld
In a boat he was met

By a friendly Skulldog
Friendly Skulldog
By a friendly Skulldog
Friendly Skulldog

Before his trip here
He thought he didn’t dream
But he changed his mind quickly
When he saw the stream
The Skulldog climbed aboard
While he gawped at the view
When he saw the Skulldog there
He jumped out it’s true

From the friendly Skulldog
Friendly Skulldog
From the friendly Skulldog
Friendly Skulldog

Run run Reynir
Run run Reynir
GYAAAA
Run run Reynir
Run run Reynir

He just fled the boat

And falling on the pond
He found it held his weight
And he ran away from there
To meet his Fate
Now Skulldog he just whimpered
Cause his friend had just fled
And next update we will see
What he meets up ahead

Not a friendly Skulldog
Friendly Skulldog
Not a friendly Skulldog
Friendly Skulldog

Oooooooo
Reynir just met Skulldog
Dreams have come to our Reynir

Oooooooo
Reynir just met Skulldog
Dreams have come to our Reynir

Oooooooo
Reynir just met Skulldog
Dreams have come to our Reynir

Based on To Be With You by Mr. Big

Hold on human boy
I just want to come to you
Stay here red-haired boy
Please know that I don't want to scare

Oh, please don't, don't flee
I wanted just to speak to you
So come on Reynir, come on over
Let me be the one to show you

I'm the one who wants to be with you
Deep inside I hope you feel it too
Waited here in dreamland in the blue
Just to be the next to be with you

Build up your confidence
So you can stay and talk to me
Don't leave, I'm lonely here
I just wanted a human near

I've seen it all go down
in agony and writhing pain
I'm really lonely, please come over
One more time be near a human...

I'm the one who wants to be with you
Deep inside I hope you feel it too
Waited here in dreamland in the blue
Just to be the next to be with you

Why be alone when we can be together Reynir?
You can make my life worthwhile
I can make you start to smile

oh please don't, don't run
I promise not to hurt you here
Come on Reynir, come on over
Let me be the one to show you

I'm the one who wants to be with you
Deep inside I hope you feel it too
Waited here in dreamland in the blue
Just to be the next to be with you

I'm the one who wants to be with you
Deep inside I hope you feel it too
Waited here in dreamland in the blue
Just to be the next to be with you

Just to be the next to be with you

Lallipop, Lallipop
Oh Lalli, Lalli, Lalli, Lallipop, Lallipop! *POP*
Buh dohm dohm dohm

Call my baby Lalli-pop, tell you why,
He comes crashing down from the sky,
And when he does those crazy runo chants,
Man I haven't got a chance.

I call him, Lallipop, Lallipop
Oh Lalli, Lalli, Lalli, Lallipop, Lallipop!

Slimmer than a straw or a pixie stick
Huckleberry, cherry or lime
Fangirls going crazy cuz he’s their pick
But Lallipop is mi-ii-ii-iiiine

Lallipop, Lallipop
Oh Lalli, Lalli, Lalli, Lallipop, Lallipop! *POP*
Buh dohm dohm dohm

Mage eyes when he’s running, tell you why
Memorizin’ routes far and wide
He loves starin’ at Reynir, straight
Gee, my Lallipop is great!

I call him Lallipop, Lallipop
Oh Lalli, Lalli, Lalli, Lallipop, Lallipop! *POP*

He Knows When He's Licked

In the misty distance
Renir runs and runs
This no happy trance
For the braided one

Closed are his eyes
Running in water but
Still keeping dry
Mouth also firmly shut

Frightened by the beast
Out he continues to race
Not expecting in the least
Startled by lick in the face

In the rocky cave he
Stopped to look around
Found only a spirit foxy
Slurping as he frowned

-----------------------------

Fox and Braidy (based on Foxy Lady by Jimi Hendrix)

Foxy
Foxy

You know you're a scared little boy Reynir
Foxy
You know you're asleep running little dear
Foxy

It wants to lick your nose
It won't do you no harm, no
You're gonna be all fine, all fine
Ooh, fox and braidy

It sees you, heh, on down on the stream
Foxy
Beasts made you wanna get up and, uh, scream
Foxy
Ah, braidy listen now
You've lost your mind yeah
There will be nothing you can do this time
You're gonna be all fine, all fine
Fox and braidy
Here it comes

It wants to lick your nose
It won't do you no harm, no
You're gonna be all fine, all fine

Here it comes braidy
It's comin' to get ya
Ow fox and braidy
You look so sad
Yeah, foxy
Yeah, give him some
Foxy
Yeah, get it, braid
It makes you feel like
Feel like sayin' foxy
Oh braidy
Foxy
Fox and braidy
Fox and braidy

Wood You Look at That

Reynir joined by many sheep
Not a cave but fields steep
Grassland obscured by fog
The face of the local dog
It reminds the lad of home
A bad idea it was to roam
On the revealed lands hilled
His dreams remain unfulfilled
Laying his head upon the rock
He reflects within and takes stock
He never should have left his land
With neither route nor return planned
In the distance Reynir sees
That secluded wood of barren trees

-------------------------------------

Sweet Home Distant Iceland (based on Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd)

My head started dreaming
Carry me off and see this dog
Barking words about in dream-land
I miss that Iceland once again
Now I spot sheep in the fog

Well I thought I had no dreams at night, sir
And I left home real stupidly
When I wake up I can't remember
I had no plan when beasts roam around all diseased

Sweet home distant Iceland
And my feelings are so blue
Sweet home distant Iceland
Now, I wanna come back to you

In dreaming land I found a rowboat (boo hoo hoo)
And a beast climed right into it
I was looking at this place remote
Turned around and had a fit
It's the truth

Sweet home distant Iceland
And my feelings are so blue
Sweet home distant Iceland
Now, I wanna come back to you

Now this dog reminds me of the farm
What sort of weird unusual dreams are these?
This place is cause for alarm
And through the fog I see distant trees
Now help me please

Sweet home distant Iceland
And my feelings are so blue
Sweet home distant Iceland
Now, I wanna come back to you

Regretful is the mage
Errors large in his mind
Yet soon another page
Newly turned will he find
In his dreaming
Ripples gleaming

So ominous the woods
Looming up before him
Ephemeral the moods
Echoing right through him
Passing feelings
Softly stealing

Boundaries, Bounds Does He

Sheep removed hair
While over there
Cat in the trees
That Reynir sees
Still sleeping is he
The napping Lalli

Both dog and he smile
Moving with style
Continues his slick
Water run trick
There in a tick
Bounds really quick

Crossing the gap
This happy chap
No longer alone
In the dream zone
No reason to moan
Now that it's known

Excitable pup
His spirits up
This sheltered brat
Moves over stat
Time for a chat
And bother the cat

----------------------------

Bother (based on Brother by the Stereophonics)

I'm coming soon, I'll bother!
Under this moon I'll bother!
I found you now, dreaming drifter
Don't you mind my words, bother!
I tell you no lies now I'll come bother
I'll wake you up soon, don't mind me mister

I will run on this stream
I see you in this dream
Now I can escape from these sheep
I'm coming to bother, don't you sleep!
Don't you sleep!

Won't let you dream, I'll bother!
Run on this stream, I'll bother!
I'll come I must confess, I must digress, to your matress
Had I lost you? Now come across you, I will accost you
I've come to meet you, and come to greet you, browbeat you

I will run on this stream
I see you in this dream
Now I can escape from these sheep
I'm coming to bother, don't you sleep!
Don't you sleep!

I will come and bother!
I will come and bother!
I will come and bother!
I will come and bother!

I will run on this stream
I see you in this dream
Now I can escape from these sheep
I'm coming to bother, don't you sleep!
Don't you sleep!
Don't you sleep!

I will come and bother!
You too
I will come and bother!
You too
I will come and bother!
You too

So deep within their dreams they drift
Between the worlds that both have made
Occasioning dramatic shift
From silvery sun to wintry shade

Perhaps it is some kind of gift
That to this place our Mage has strayed?
His hope returns: his spirits lift!
A need no more to be afraid!

So travel light and travel swift
-For it can be no more delayed-
Across the moonlit, starlit rift
'Tween flowery field and milky glade
