I sadly haven´t heard of "
Riven Seal".
Has somebody here recommended "
Castle Swimmer" here so far? (I saw someone recommend "
Kappa", which is by the same creator about basically the same characters, but they rebooted it on webtoons with better art and better thought out (and different) story.)
It´s a story about a world of mermaid-tribes, each based on a different kind of sea-creature, who all have their own prophesy that should be solved by the "beacon", a specific mermaid (and one of the main characters, Kappa). It is very beautifully drawn, and the story is great! Updades usually on Sundays, right now it´s on mid-second-season-break until April.
Anyway, yesterday I had one of my sessions of catching up with the latest 15 or so episodes of it I had missed. Shit went down in there, and now I have a lot of feelings. :´) Yes... that´s basically why I´m here now.
Well, now that I´m here already, some more recommendations:
More mermaid-stuff, because I´m apparently a big fan of that, according to my web-comic-library: "
(Sink in your) Hookteeth": An absolutely stunning horror-comic about a planet not in a universe, but a giant ocean. There is water in the sky and on the ground, and it is just sooo beautiful. Some panels are even animated! It is also (sort of) a disease-comic, as the main-characters (humans) are looking for a cure for a sickness that killed the parents of one of them and has infected her too.
Also: "
A better place", recently finished, a Comic about a future-earth that has been terraformed by a young child with the powers to create everything she can imagine. The main story is in the pages themselves, but in the page-descriptions and the tags are even more hidden details, worldbuilding and how the actions of the protagonists affect the world they´re in. It´s great.
