okay, it is finally time to share my list of favorite webcomics (this excludes graphic novels/comics I own, cuz thats a LOT, although I can make a list of those if anyone's interested):
- Lavender Jack (on webtoon): mystery thriller
https://www.webtoons.com/en/super-hero/lavender-jack/list?title_no=1410

- All That We Hope to Be (on webtoon): sad, philosophical animals
https://www.webtoons.com/en/slice-of-life/all-that-we-hope-to-be/list?title_no=470

- Your Letter (on webtoon): short, sweet story about a girl and a friend from the past who makes a sort of scavenger hunt for her (it's hard to explain, but all i can say is that it's very good)
https://www.webtoons.com/en/drama/your-letter/list?title_no=1540

- Always Human (on webtoon): budding romance in a world in which you can change your appearance at will. very wholesome and sweet
https://www.webtoons.com/en/romance/always-human/list?title_no=557

- Space Boy (on webtoon): seemingly superficial cute story about a girl who moves from one planet to Earth, but then turns really deep and interesting
https://www.webtoons.com/en/sf/space-boy/list?title_no=400

- On a Sunbeam (own website): SUPER GOOD I LOVED THIS SO MUCH story about two girls who fall in love in a space boarding house but then one of them has to leave and if i go farther i'll start giving spoilers. I also have this in graphic novel, real-life form
https://www.onasunbeam.com/

- Ava's Demon (own website): in my opinion, this one isn't as good as the ones listed above, but it almost is, so I decided to add it to this list. Essentially, space demons who have taken human hosts to survive
https://www.avasdemon.com/

Enjoy!

That's one of my favourites too. Aerial Magic, by the same author, is also good.
I'll check out the others you listed.

I read a lot of webcomics, but I'd have to have a proper look at my overly full bookmarks folder to select the ones I'd recommend to others versus the ones I read when I'm bored.

My other favorite Year in Hereafter: http://www.yihcomic.com/

Fantasy adventure in a setting based on Finnish mythology. Now at very close to 500 pages and regularly updates twice a week. YiH was on hiatus for a while but is back now and Miikka has commented he has a good size buffer and is foreseeing regular updates for many months.

Jitter this sounds really interesting, I will take a look at it !

Alkia I recently began to read webcomics on webtoon, so thanks for the recommendations ! There's so much stuff that it's hard to decide what to read haha

Here are my recommendations :

- Wilde Life : The story is about a man, Oscar who started to rent a house in a small town in Oklahoma, and since then, a lot of weird stuff is happening to him. It's a supernatural/horror story so it can be a bit creepy but I really like it ! It's on Hiveworks and here is the link : https://www.wildelifecomic.com/about

- Lalin's Curse : The story is about David, a boy who wants to prove to his friends that supernatural stuff exists, not knowing that he might regret it (yeah I love supernatural stories). It's very good too, even if the fact that the protagonists are in middle school can be a little annoying, but the art is really nice and it adress over themes than just supernatural. You can find it on webtoon : https://www.webtoons.com/en/supernatural/lalins-curse/list?title_no=1601

- My deepest secret : Emma is in deep love with her boyfriend, he's so perfect and always nice ! But she doesn't know his dark side...This story is more about love and psychology and the characters are well-constructed. You can find it on webtoon : https://www.webtoons.com/en/thriller/my-deepest-secret/list?title_no=1580

I have a lot more, but these were my most recent favorites !

Ooo, I'll have to check out Wilde Life! Looks really good. Also, Marii, I haven't read My Deepest Secret yet (i think I shall), but it reminds me of another cute webtoon called Super Secret that is about a girlfriend and the secrets her boyfriend keeps from her (https://www.webtoons.com/en/romance/super-secret/list?title_no=666)! It's very cute

Also, today I discovered that one of my favorite artists on Youtube made a short webtoon, and, just, gAH it's so cute!!! I love it too much!!

It seems that it's been a while since someone last visited this thread, so I thought I could resurrect it, because why not? And since I need something to actually post, here's my current top 10 webcomics (minus SSSS and aRTD):
- El Goonish Shive - a comic about a bunch of high-schoolers and their bizarre (and not so bizarre) problems. Science fantasy comedy/drama, very pro LGBT, genderbending aplenty.
- Unsounded - a fantasy comic about a daughter of a mafia boss and her undead wizard companion going on an adventure together. Gets very dark, very fast.
- Blonde Sunrise - a comic that is technically about werewolves. Lots of mystery.
- Kill Six Billion Demons - oh boy, where do I even begin? Angels, devils, god-people, martial arts, weird cosmology and incredible pseudo-religious/philosophical atmosphere. Also, a fantastic heist arc.
- The Order of the Stick - a D&D epic with stick figures.
- Exvulnerum - a guy who can't die and a rich, ditzy girl go see the world. Starts out mostly lighthearted, gets darker later on due to the titular Exvulnerum.
- Gunnerkrigg Court - weird stuff.
- Sire - descendants of famous fictional characters have to deal with the legacy of their forefathers. Very metafictional. No longer available, so whatever.

They're largely decently popular, so there's not a lot of opportunities to showcase my garbage taste, but hey, there's gotta be something terrible in there, right?

Sire's still around I think, it's just that Smackjeeves, the hosting site, decided to go into full garbage mode, and basically broke every single webcomic URL related to it as it created sites with far worse UI in their reorganization.

TOR browser can be used to circumvent that if you're alright with reading a few tutorials.
The king of all creation fell out of heaven, usurped by a seven headed beast. But the old king shall choose a new, and he will ignite the Third Conquest. He will be flanked by a white and a black flame, His coming will be followed by 108 burning stars. He will bear the terrible heat of the voice in his brow, the mark of his lordliness. He will face the beast—and he will annihilate it.
He will wield the terrible blade of Want, and the pillars of heaven will quake with his coming.

I'm pretty late to this thread but thanks so much Alkia for recommending On a Sunbeam! I read through the whole thing today and really enjoyed it.

I don't have much to add beyond what's already here, but a webcomic I really enjoyed reading was M.F.K. by Nilah Magruder: https://www.mfkcomic.com/comic/chapter-1-page-1-2/ - unfortunately it's been on Hiatus since 2016 and now only the 1st and 4th chapters are available for free.

I sadly haven´t heard of "Riven Seal". :(

Has somebody here recommended "Castle Swimmer" here so far? (I saw someone recommend "Kappa", which is by the same creator about basically the same characters, but they rebooted it on webtoons with better art and better thought out (and different) story.)
It´s a story about a world of mermaid-tribes, each based on a different kind of sea-creature, who all have their own prophesy that should be solved by the "beacon", a specific mermaid (and one of the main characters, Kappa). It is very beautifully drawn, and the story is great! Updades usually on Sundays, right now it´s on mid-second-season-break until April.
Anyway, yesterday I had one of my sessions of catching up with the latest 15 or so episodes of it I had missed. Shit went down in there, and now I have a lot of feelings. :´) Yes... that´s basically why I´m here now.

Well, now that I´m here already, some more recommendations:

More mermaid-stuff, because I´m apparently a big fan of that, according to my web-comic-library: "(Sink in your) Hookteeth": An absolutely stunning horror-comic about a planet not in a universe, but a giant ocean. There is water in the sky and on the ground, and it is just sooo beautiful. Some panels are even animated! It is also (sort of) a disease-comic, as the main-characters (humans) are looking for a cure for a sickness that killed the parents of one of them and has infected her too.

Also: "A better place", recently finished, a Comic about a future-earth that has been terraformed by a young child with the powers to create everything she can imagine. The main story is in the pages themselves, but in the page-descriptions and the tags are even more hidden details, worldbuilding and how the actions of the protagonists affect the world they´re in. It´s great.
supposedly studying, most likely drawing…
