This isn't real art, but I made it so I figured I would share. I was thinking of using one of these and ordering a custom rubber stamp, though I'm not sure what I would use it for.1. Yes, your rubber stamp designs are real art, since you thought them up (just like Piney's wallpaper). And I think a lot of us would like an SSSS stamp.

On another note, I haven't posted much on the forum, but I love all the art here, you are all truly amazing people.

I hadn't thought of putting the picture on clothing, but now you mention it, what about socks?
Me too. I wonder if there would be some way to create some sort of fan run merchandise shop? I feel like a lot of people would buy stuff, but it doesn't seem like Minna will do it any time soon, she is working hard enough as it is. Maybe we could stock a shop with t-shirts an pajamas ans such and then direct the profits to Minna so she doesn't have to deal with it? I have no idea if this would work, or how to implement it, but it seems like it could be a way for us to get our themed clothing and to get Minna a little more profit off the comic.I've been thinking about that for about a week now, actually. There are all kinds of options available, with lots of businesses that solely produce custom made products for different fandoms.
What.....what am I doing....help meeeeee...

WHAT IS THIS. The boot fluff is the least of your problems! XD Why doesn't it have a head??? What is there in stead of a head???Now I'm going to worry about what it looks like all night! O___Oarghh it reminds me of other things that it shouldn't
Now I'm going to worry about what it looks like all night! O___O
He has a head, but me and my sister agreed that it it possessed by dark evil and we should maybe burn it. So I'm going to make him another, non-satanic one tomorrow, after his arms. :3 and try and get the minna style better....

After staring at Mr beasty for so long, I decided I needed to try drawing him right side up. Here's the results so far! Also debating whether I want to attempt coloring him with pastels or not...
Ah, the trusty collar...also hoods, cloaks, gumboots and mittens! XD Collars for the win! ;)(http://i.imgur.com/JYJ3oAg.png)
I finally gave in and drew fanart.
For some reason I couldn't draw chins tonight. Collars to the rescue!

So, uhm, I suppose this is the best thread for this. The logo is nice but the font looks eerily blood-like (not that anyone should mind though).

A TROLL!!! Put the most disgusting troll!! It would be a diet-special plate! You won't want to finish the food in order to avoid seeing the monster underneath! And if you DO see it, the appetite would be ruined!I was thinking along the lines of "Tooth Scary helpfully licking the plate clean for you", too. 8)
I know, I think it's too light. the bloody paint dries too quickly to mix it properly.Alternatively, you could invite someone over for dinner and offer them a writing-less logoed plate first, then swap it out with a plate with the "stay" part in blood red letters. Spooky scary haunted dinner party.
still working that part out.

I love the other head just... lying casually on the ground beside him cxAhahah..that's the scary head! ;___; the pupils are new though; an attempt to exorcise it ;)
In all seriousness, though, this is awesome. You're really talented!
I think I'm fairly finished with him now...he has no mouth though, or lower eyelids... :/:O
And then I used the left over clay to make a creepy kitty XP
Do his eyebrows need adjusting? :/ I think his nose does...

That's marvelous! Clay-Lalli's posture is *perfect.* As far as his face... maybe the nose could be a smidge lower and pointier? Also, I think his downward-slanting brows look kind of angry (which may have been your intention). Left to themselves, his brows tend to float higher on his face.Yes. I agree with all of what sunflower says! Lower pointier nose and slightly higher eyebrows.
I love the kitty. I don't think it's creepy at all (though it *is* smirking.) You should make a 3-D Printer design of it!
Perhaps i'll have to start posting up some drawings to contribute to the Australian team :DYeahyeahyeahyeah! :D
:OI just gave him some lower eyelids, and he looks much more...human now XD
Wooooah. He's... fully realized! Are you gonna give a mouth and lower eyelids? He could do with both.
Creepy!Cat is adorable. He looks all snide and catlike, so it's appropriate. His expression is cracking me up. "I know what you did, Lalli..."

Hi everyone!
I read through this entire thread over the past few days. You guys have made some really cool (and often really hilarious) fan art.
I made a double-sided rubber stamp, as you can see...
These are a few of my favorites.

No problem, this thread is over 90 pages already - it'd be cool if everyone read through at least the first page, but in no way do I expect people to.
So I made a thing. Well, actually the talented Ms Sundberg made a thing, I just added lasering:

Now I need to go find some leather and make badges for my coat.

*ahem* I don't know if colored easter eggs are considered serious art but here you go!Easter eggs not serious art? Have you heard about Fabergé?! ;D I've saved up onion skins to dye eggs with, but I'm not sure I'll get around to it before Easter is over. Did you dye them in consecutive baths, using masking tape, or something? It looks really good!

That is so cool. I couldn't make Easter eggs this year so I'm really jealous.
Gorgeous!

It's a serious, existing art, and that's an egg worthy of the True Minnion Artist Award. Happy Easter! :)
kahli: nice work! How did you colour that? At first I wondered if you boil-dyed the egg but on another hand it could also be painted... *squint*
kahli: Easter eggs are definitely art! I'm curious as well as to how you colored it :o
So! Hello again! It officially stopped being easter here half an hour ago, but I really wanted to share these. I saw Kahli's gorgeous eggs yesterday, and so today when my grandmother unexpectedly pulled out an egg dying kit after easter brunch, I just had to try to make them myself!
Also, happy (belated) Passover to those who celebrate it. My family happens to do both, so lots of good food this weekend! :D

All you people and your awesome stuff!
So I've been working on a thing. My grandma and I have been talking about me making some needlepoint designs to sell since she goes to needlework trade shows a few times a year. (and painted canvases go for so much money, my gosh!) I've never painted on needlepoint canvas before, so I started to practice on some old, low-quality canvas. This is the first little practice piece!
And I'm quite aware of the major mistakes (such as one of the x's being a square too close)...since I'm not going to actually do anything with this one, I eventually got to the point of not caring. But I thought I'd share anyway. Plus a couple little doodles :P

Hi! Long time lurker creeps out of the shadows of anonimity to add her two cents. Or maybe just one - it all depends on inflation. And my skills with a camera. So let me show you what I came up with during the weekend:AAAA THIS IS GREAT! What clay/plasticine/stuff do you use by the way- it looks like fantastic stuff! :3

And in case I messed up the image inserting (can't see it in preview no matter what I try, so probably), here's a link to the picture, too: https://www.flickr.com/photos/33352687@N03/17261744706/ (https://www.flickr.com/photos/33352687@N03/17261744706/)
I know it's been almost half a year since Minna drew this picture, but the idea of the whole SSSS crew as cats kept haunting me in my crafting endeavors, and it was high time to let it out I guess. And there is no such a thing as having enough cats. I'm SO looking forward to the crew meeting their kitty!
Since I'm new to the forum, I'd like to ask for some help if this is not the right place to post this. Thank you.
Edit: I fail at inserting pictures.

1. Yeah that does count as art because it doesn't go in cosplay.yay!
And 2. THAT IS SUPER COOL
These are neat! The first one reminds me of a simplified endless knot. (Though it's a Buddhist symbol, so it probably wasn't meant to be similiar?)

The pants are meant for male military figures, and won't let themselves be sewn/styled the way I had thought, so I have to think about doing boot covers over the pants. And belts. And a jacket closure and styling for the collar. And a mask once I have a head. And...and...and...*dies*

Olga, that's amazing! I don't think we have a glass painter yet. Can you tell us something about that beautiful piece of glass you used as background? It's almost the colours of turquoise or malachite. Or is it in fact a stone? Do you paint on sea-glass?

Wow, Olga, it's amazing ! (The effect with the sun too !)
How many hours did you need to do that ?
and I am being creative type and instead of throwing it out, I fixed it:

totally handmade, so it is not the best.
I disagree, I think this is most best! You should be proud to boast the Danish flag on your pants! And everyone should know some basic sewing techniques so they can do awesome stuff like this instead of throwing out a perfectly good piece of clothing.
well, really long time ago I made a Finland cap in 2011 (while watching eurovision lol)
(the sweden one I bought in Denmark)
my grandma taught me to do these (http://www.filetoth.com/3-himzesek/files/eniko_himzes5.jpg), and the hat was made same way, sadly the fabric was pretty strong, so it was not that easy, and for the danish flag on my trousers were same, some parts on my trousers were really hard to sew throw with hands.
and I dunno why I think sewing with hand is easy....... sorry, it is really hard to believe someone can't because it is really easy to me.....
Yes, clothing with all of the Nordic flags!!! (ok not really, but 3/5 isn't bad) And that embroidery is beautiful! I can see how it would be difficult to do with strong fabric.
Sewing by hand isn't all that hard, but a lot of people I know simply never learned how to do it. My grandma never would have let me go through life without knowing the basics, though ^-^
Martti: those little flower embroideries are lovely! And if you are hand sewing heavy fabric, do you have a thimble? Or a saddlers' palm if you can find one? I find such tools very useful for sewing canvas or leather; if you go to a craft shop you should find several gadgets for making heavy hand sewing easier and safer. Such tools were once used by shoemakers, harness repairers and the like, and now for leather crafts.I'm glad I'm not the only one! Everyone I know who sews uses a machine, and they can't understand that for me, just sitting down at a machine is enough to jam it! I also must hand-sew everything.
I've never mastered a sewing machine, but can hand sew well enough. One of my sisters is a tailor, and she thinks it's very silly of me, but I've never managed to machine-sew without breaking the machine or sewing my fingers!
Such tools were once used by shoemakers, harness repairers and the like, and now for leather crafts.

well, I know what thimble is, I saw it when I was little, but never used (used it as a toy like using as a hat or glass or something for a barbie-like doll or something lol), but we don't have one here. when it was really hard I usually picked something metal around (mostly scissors) to help me push through.
I never knew it was for that. I asked my grandma (she is the only one who had) what it was, she said it protects my finger to be sewn to the cloths, but I didn't image that way UNTIL NOW that it could help me push just through the fabric, wow....
and I actually sew my finger/hand to some fabric few times (not with sewing machine). I was always laughing like "oops I sew my finger to it again" xD
Ana, wherever did your mom find one of those? Or did she make it? I haven't seen one in about sixty years; my great-grandmother had one which her father had made for her.

Olga: These are incredibly beautiful! Would you consider making a tutorial on how these were created? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be fascinated to see the process.

These are so beautiful! I'm trying to imagine the size and I'm just wondering how you managed to even make them, those are indeed tiny. You have the steadiest hand ever.
oh dang these are gorgeous O: the swan cross has SO MANY DETAILS and the blue glass is so pretty
These are so pretty!
The owl being cat-like is a plus ;)
Holy cow, those are gorgeous! They look straight out of the High Middle Ages.
Wow these are beautiful please make all the things into glass. ALL the things. Then post pictures so that I can look at them. I love these so much wow.
I'm going to have to agree with you: these are amazing! And would you believe that Olga already made a tutorial (https://ssssforum.com/index.php?topic=505.msg63478#msg63478) for one of her previous works? It's really cool, you should check it out!
Olga: These are incredibly beautiful! Would you consider making a tutorial on how these were created? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be fascinated to see the process.
Yes, I saw and admired the previous tutorial. These look as if made a little differently? I know the basic work is likely similar, but some of the methods of the inlay look different?
I made SSSS-themed cookies once. Now that I've noticed this thread I regret not taking pictures. :'(
I finally popped my head into this thread! And I'm happy I did--this is beautiful! c:

But I like the overall result.
Now I'm really excited, which means more papercuts on the way, I believe.Excellent! : D I'm looking forward to others. Who might you do next?

Thank you, Papercut Master. *bows*
Auleliel: Sympathy! Electric sewing machines are the worst. I could just manage my Gran's old pedal-driven Singer machine, if I worked very carefully and slowly, but I haven't seen one of those for decades.
Martti: I forgot to mention also sailmakers' needles and the leather palm they use - very good for such work.

I didn't realize how badly I needed a mug like this until I saw yours. Beautiful, your hand is the steadiest ever and - well - now I kind of want to learn painting glass...
Another art, not on glass but ceramics: Mug with SSSS emblem.
All as usual: colours and contours =)

I drink neither coffee nor tea, but I'd consider doing so if I had a mug like this.
Considering that I occasionally drink f.ex. wine from small soup bowls, empty jam jars or straight from the bottle (I REALLY hate doing the dishes, if I'm planning on relaxing the dishes will have to wait) I say just get one anyway. For any drink at all, chocolate milk, orange juice, anything. Or you know... for soup... or cereal... Ok Laufey time to shut up before all the embarrassing secrets come out...
Oh! Mugs are also really good for eating kraft dinner (mac n cheese) out of :D

That sounds a lot more menacing than I meant it to, but in honor of fall, I wanted to try papercutting with leaves. Here are the results!Spoiler: lots of leaves show
Verdict: cutting out leaves is hard because they break more easily than paper when dry, and you can't draw designs on them while wet. But it was really fun, and I think pretty successful.

Great posture! Would you mind me asking how you prepared your sculpture before putting on the clay? Did you use metal wire underneath or anything else? What do you use to keep the clay wet?THanks :3 I like making the bodies, but can never get heads right though -__-

There's several different threads where I could have posted this and none of them really seem to fit, so I've taken a punt and decided to dump it here. Behold the hottest toy of the 2015 festive season....Spoiler: show
Purple Wyrm, that's clever! So much work. I like that you have the folding antenna and the wonky headlight.
So clever! I wish Lego would make a kit for it -- I know a couple of 9-year-old boys who could put it together for me in a flash.
Now, my Christmas wish: SSSS Lego minifigs! (Sigrun would be easy -- just change the hair color and uniform for Wyldstyle. Any other ideas?)
Thanks! I figure if you're going to spend time on something pointlessly nerdy, you should make it detailed pointlessly nerdy :D
You can actually submit builds like this to Lego for consideration, but they require tens of thousands of votes and serious commercial potential to get approved. Sadly I suspect SSSS fandom wouldn't provide enough profit. You also used to be able to send your design through to Lego, get a quote for all the parts and then have them shipped out to you to build for real. But they stopped doing it for some reason :(
I have a history of customising minifigs (https://www.flickr.com/photos/wyrmworld/albums/72157627345865818), so Lego versions of our intrepid crew are a distinct possibility :D
(https://36.media.tumblr.com/42135fcaa0cdbc0aae85c3397b4d7840/tumblr_nzs7yet90N1uxdy8lo1_1280.jpg)
I tried, it didn't really visible like I thought it could be.
... is it just me, or would the SSSS star look magnificent as an inlay on one of these tables?
My older stepsister painted these gorgeous Lalli dreamscape shoes for me for christmas!

As a belated Christmas present, I made these SSSS-themed chocolates for Rabbit~
They were happy with it, which makes me really, really happy: https://ssssforum.com/index.php?topic=474.msg88085#msg88085
Here's my overview of the decorated fronts (with edible glitter because I could and wanted to):
To make these, I made a form with plastimake/polycaprol, which I then used to make a food-grade mold using a re-useable gel :)
(with my hand for size)
The rest is my chocolate secret ;)
While I have been thinking about SSSS flavours, these chocolates are tailored to Rabbit's tastes so I won't say much about them.
I will probably refine the shape, make it more even, and who knows, one day finally settle on what kind of chocolate flavours SSSS and the crew members inspire to me!
NIIIIIIIICE!
Chalk or oil pastel? :D (now I wanna draw trolls...it looks so fun!)Ah, the trusty collar...also hoods, cloaks, gumboots and mittens! XD Collars for the win! ;)
I made Lalli's arms today! ::)
It's a mix-mash of his Keuruu clothes, because I just really wanted to put the bow on and not make hundreds of uniform straps and linings ;____; Although it's only now that I notice the bow loops are facing the wrong wayyyyyyy.. *troll cry* I AM NEVER GOING TO UNNOTICE THAT EVER. (I'm ironically a bit of a perfectionist...)
The sleeves aren't...quite....but they're ok.
(I'm going to fix his hand after it's dried :3)

Lalli with luonto
Lalli is in the one side of the glass, and his lynx luonto is on the other side. For backround I used blue colour for glass and transparent glue, they give nice texture.
Materials: glass, contours and colours for glass, silver acrylic paint, foil, transparent glue
Size: 7x12 cm without frame, 10x15 cm with frame
Olga, that's breathtaking!
May we see an image of the other side?
Olga, that's marvellous! The eyes with the fire-red pupils are a nice touch.
Thank you so much, Talimee!

Also now that I've found this thread of course I had to do more stuff! Soooo I did a teeny thing at work today:

ooooh, lots of beautiful things! You people are all awesome!
I have only done one thing to brag with, this one here:
(http://i.imgur.com/JH4G8jV.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/cFx367K.jpg)
I'm not a very good photographer and taking a picture of your own back was EVEN HARDER *shakes fist* Anyway, people look at me a bit weirdly when I wear it outside but who cares about them, amirite?

The SSSStar made of foam. I like foam, it's my favourite material, since it's soft.
Making it was like a mathematical puzzle, I calculated what angle every flag should have in order to fit nicely.
I seem to be obsessed with the SSSStar since I also drew it on my labcoat (https://ssssforum.com/index.php?topic=35.msg123463#msg123463).
Still very much a work in progress, but here's where I am with my Lego project.
Among other things I need to finish everyone's uniform, paint Emil, Sigrun and Tuuri's hair and get a face for Sigrun.
(Oh, and Kitty is there, but you can't see her from this angle)
AHHH they look so good, Wyrm! Really impressive. I bet they'll look even more awesome after they're complete. *_*
These are well done Purple Wyrm but shouldn't Reynir also have a mask like Tuuri?
Windy, cosplay is coming, huh? ;)
Nah, I was going to cosplay Sigrun during worldcon, but I didn't manage to finish the gloves in time. Now I don't know what to do with them...just wear them around? fingerless gloves are super cosy and nice because you can use your phone and stuff but your hands are warm
Happy celebration!Just... wow.

Thanks everyone! Yes it's cherry inside the cottage cheese (according to google translation) so, yes, with sugar-sweet marzipan and mastic paste on top the acidic taste of cherry in biscuit and fresh cheese texture makes realy tasty mix
(That was my master piece for whole time! Because I'm also just a hobbist in bakery)
Is this handmade?
As our final project for my art class, we made ceramic mugs! We were supposed to make them with some sort of face or creature, so I made one with Reynir's face and beautiful hair on it. :D It was a ton of fun to make, I don't often work with clay, so it was challenging, but I'm really happy with how it turned out! :)

So I tried crocheting a Notoro!Excellent. So now's the time to put it into the window, go over to your neighbors, tell them about SSSS, and suggest that they might want to stop being so noisy in the night! >:D

That’s really cool! It also reminds me to look up what pewter (and stoneware, for that matter) actually is because I’ve never been quite sure.pewter is a soft metal alloy that's mostly tin and a little bit Assorted Other Stuff (mostly antimony, a little copper, silver and/or lead) that's used for decorative stuff; stoneware is a hard ceramic that's used a lot for cookware and baking dishes and teapots and whatnot because it handles high temperatures well
