Mastic? You can get mastic where you are? It's really hard to buy here. I have to go down to the city to Gaganis's, which is a sort of huge Greek food and cooking supplies emporium, if I want it for confectionery or ice cream (love mastic ice cream)! I use it for making incenses and perfumes as well as in cooking.
I actually have a mastic tree I grew from seed, but it's only about a foot high and they grow slowly, so it will be awhile before I can harvest any. On the other hand, my climate should produce good mastic tears.
