Finished "Black the Fall", another cinematic-platformer inspired by, yes, LIMBO and INSIDE, again.
This one is a little more inspired than the usual LIMBO clone. It was made by a Romanian game studio and is about escaping a communist dystopia in a science-fiction setting, while a revolution is in the making.
Had some problems with the occasional bug (nothing making the game unplayable though), and I found the difficulty of puzzles really all over the place (but I think I had a problem getting into the spirit of that game, my brain just wouldn't start and I spent hours on puzzles that other people apparently figured out pretty quickly).
I appreciated how the game managed to have a 3D-modeled environment with real camera movements around you and such, while strictly sticking to a pure 2D gameplay.
The story wasn't particularly original and while I have zero love for communism, I still found it a bit manichean and preachy (to the degree that a game with no dialogue and no narration can be preachy, that is).
Probably will not play again, but definitely better than most of the LIMBO/INSIDE clones outthere.
