yes, you SHOULD laugh, that's why i'm posting it. my coping method is to laugh at this whole thing because the alternative is to cry. I'd never think it would be that relatable, either! Gwenno, that is the best snowcreature ever!!! i once made the groke from the moomins out of snow, but the snowtoro is better and really impressive.
........ also why would school cancel for anything less OH RIGHT the uk is a thing that does that hahah

Please tell me that you at least have pictures of snow Groke lying about somewhere! Heheh, yeah, the UK is a little bit wussy when it comes to snow, mostly regarding travelling (if it swapped weather with Norway for a week I am pretty certain the entire country would grind to a standstill). There's always worrying that we'll run out of grit, and since most of the children travel to school via school buses, if those refuse to run you end up a bit stranded. One year when we actually had decent snow (by UK standards - maybe pushing 40cm) we were stranded in school for around 6 hours because the traffic wouldn't move!

*looks at sketchbook filled with various troll and monster pictures*  ??? This was an actual attempt at making something cute for once, so guess what? I'm going to place the blame for that entirely on this fandom and the amount of scary things I end up drawing as a result of it!

I WISH, i've tried to find a picture of it several times before and i know there is one, but I can't ever find it. It was with my class at a winter outing, we were given a task to make something for the first-graders, and my group obviously decided that THE GROKE is perfect. another group made a calvin and hobbes-esque nightmare and emptied their whole ketchup bottle in the process.



also there was a power outage last night. I'm so thankful for Mélusine's gift to me, the unicorn shaped lamp. it's the best power outage light source I've ever had.

I am here to announce that I. Am. On. Vacatiooooon~~~

A proper one this time. With no stress. And no annoying holiday celebrations with family. And no exams in the middle of it. It is the last holiday I'll be having (apart from long weekend for Easter) until summer, but I will enjoy it.

Just spent a very cosplay-full weekend, now trying to motivate self to go over about 400 photos... anyway, some cosplay conclusions:

Sigrun (the blue Norwegian uniform)

- awesome for winter, so warm so cozy!
- likely horribad for summer, no way am I ever wearing that double-layered wool cape in plus degrees
- mwahahahahaaa

Reynir (dreamscape)

- was too hot in the summer, is too cold in the winter, why
- great for twirling around
- danger of getting hit in the face with the braid when twirling around
