Today is the one day in the year that mentally handicapped people are allowed to ride with truckdrivers. That's a pretty nice thing! Really nice, and people make a bit of an occasion of it.

However.

Those trucks.

Have horns.

And they are being pressed almost continuously.

For the past hour.

Hopefully they'll pull in their horns sooner or later.

But in a way I know how you feel. I live in a small "town" (probably counts as a village in most other countries) in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing to do so kids spend their times driving around in derelict pick-ups and rusty mopeds blasting their horns and their terrible music. The town looks like a western movie town with a long road running straight through it, so it feels almost the modern equivalent of having local outlaws riding through while firing revolvers into the air like in the movies.

Today was pretty good, I got to hang out around the university and figure out where some things are. It was very nice because now I fell a lot less stressed about what I have to do and managing things. I even met some people. Like actually went up to them by myself and talked to them :O Real live human beings. There is hope! Also I get to meet up with ruth tomorrow, so I'm super excited about that!

Yay! Windstorm! One with all the good stuff, too. Billowy clouds, rain showers, sudden sun breaks, leaves flying into the windows - this is great! (Although I'm not sure how thankful I am about my dog Natasha transferring mud to two - and counting - pairs of socks. At least she's enthusiastic.)
