Sadly there is no "What artist do you like?" thread, so I'll put it here.

Absolutely gorgeous animated pixel art by Mark Ferrari: this compilation changes with the time of day (change the time by clicking on "Options" and moving the slider), this one doesn't, but it's prettier.
Just look at these colours - these pictures were originally made in the early 1990s.

I SAW THE LAST ONE SOME TIME AGO IT'S FREAKING AMAZING AHHHHHHHHH

So I got back from the Green Man Festival (I think I might be in love with St. Vincent purely because of how amazing she was on stage but that's another matter) and I see that I've missed a hell of a lot of posts- anything big/important happen that I need to know about?

Instead, the colour palette itself changes in a predetermined way to imitate movement. Such a technique is called colour cycling.
If I remember correctly, that technique saw its first widespread use in Windows bootup splash screens way-back-when, because top-end PCs had VGA cards at that time where you could have the hardware do the cycling.

(You didn't actually assign color values to the individual pixels but a reference number to a register - one of 256 IIRC - and that register would hold the actual RGB values. No need to touch the umpteen pixel values to do the color cycling, just cycle the color values in the (32?) registers you reserved for the colors to be cycled.)

I also did a quick google search and I found this post on the subject, and apparently there isn't even proof that they're even actually selling the prints (like who is there who's actually bought or tried to buy a print from there).
Domain Registrar on the Bahamas. Provider in the Ukraine, actually has an abuse contact. Or is the story down to manning the LOICs already?

That ain't a sink, that's an interactive art project. Any chance that that mirror's semitransparent and Pablo P***offyo had a camera pointed at all those spectators he hates for not buying his metaphysical sinks? ;D

welcome back, para!
I was at a con and the sinks interactive art project was indeed very weird, and i posted an art reflex comic about it here as well as on facebook where it has 130 likes and i've never had that many facebook likes on anything before. also, reading the comments it seems like the uselessness of the sinks was the worst offender at torucon, and i've read a lot of super nice messages from the people who went there and they are so nice and i feel all warm and fuzzy thinking about the fact that I'm part of the crew their praising and aaaa
you'll know where to find me.

Okay, so Norwegian sinks are weird.
Got it. Good to know, useful knowledge.

As for the Wallpart snafu, WoT reaaaaally doesn't like it: https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/wallpart.com. Seems to be a good reason for this, the website itself (copyright theft nonwithstanding) looks very dodgy and I'd recommend staying away from it.

Woahhhhh, I remember seeing the last one on tumblr. These are so awesome! And the thing where you can change the time of day, that's the coolest thing I've seen all day. I love pixel art, maybe I should attempt it someday.

We missed you!  What's our little firebird been up to?  Are you ready to start planning for the Forum's First Anniversary?  (Sept. 1, a week from tomorrow.)
