That wouldn't happen to be a nodding thistle? ;)

"Welcome, welcome, we're overjoyed that you chose to stay at the Grand Haizton International Hotel!"

actual photo of the spjoink plant
the housekeepers saw me taking it
while I was hunched beneath the stairs
and they asked me what I was doing

"taking a photo of the plant that goes spjoink"

please bury me alive
you'll know where to find me.

Since I essentially learnt all I know about East European languages from spy movies, I now imagine the plant to be an enemy agent with a particularly convincing camouflage and the Haiz, hotel staff alias and all, shadowing it ... ;D

Look on the bright side of things: If there were any doubt in their mind that you are a bit eccentric you have now dealt with that. In the future you won't have to worry about seeming eccentric around the housekeepers because they already know.

Hmm, it does sound like the room of a child or some kind of lolita. Not saying you're childish or anything, I mean, no judgement to each their own.

Yeah, I saw that too when I was posting.  I think it's just our friendly Admins testing a new theme.

Looking for postcards, I'm opening boxes which hadn't been opened since my move in January. For this moment, I count 25 notebooks in various sizes. And the 4 I'm using now.Don't let me go in a stationery shop.

We've been talking about getting a pug!

If we are actually gonna do that, we're gonna first get a new home for one of our other dogs, who is a nervous wreck. We've been thinking about this a lot and it's gonna be hard as I love her so much, but the problem is she can't deal with kids, other dogs and strangers in general, and we live in a packed neighborhood, so...

And we gotta be really picky with who we get the pug from. Mainly because pugs are walking genetic defects thanks to generations of selective breeding (as with a lot of other races, like the chihuahuas) so we'd rather avoid getting it from a breeder with a terrible track record. I'd rather not enable any diseases.
