Happy Solstice to you too! It's pretty clear skies over here as far as I can tell - haven't looked out a window recently but last I did the weather was good. ::)

Joyful Solstice to everyone! It's a bleak foggy midwinter morning here, but from today there will be a bit more light each day. And happy summer to the northerners!

Happy Solstice! Today marks a great day for me, as it means that the hill of summer has been crested and that blissful time known as autumn when I can enjoy my favored temperature is approaching.

Happy solstice all! Slightly melancholy for me as a creature of cold and darkness - from now on the days get longer and brighter.

There's quite a bit of lag in the seasonal system. Just as you don't get the highest daily temperature at high noon, even though the sun is at its zenith 12:00, the average reversal of daily mean temperature is typically in early August (or late July, depending on local conditions) in the Northern Hemisphere.

At length the day length change happens, even if the temperature one doesn't come straight away. I like Autumn myself.

One of my happiest childhood memories revolves around the Solstice. My parents said I could play outside till it got dark and of course it just stayed light for so very long. All the parents were probably getting sloshed on martinis so I got stay out until it was just about pitch black. Ahh, the simple joys of childhood...

Long warm evenings, lying on the grass feeling the crickets sing, watching as the swallows hunting overhead change shift with the bats....the nicest part of Summer.

Starlit evenings with a good bottle of wine.  The best.  And the beach. That's the best too.

Of course, autumn has lots of the best moments. So does winter. And spring.

I guess I'm pan-seasonal
Keep an eye on me. I shimmer on horizons.

I had a horrible migraine last night so I took the rather powerful pills my GP has prescribed. They kind of stopped the headache, but had a the rather interesting side effect of giving me what I presume to be a kind of dyslexia/aphasia.

I could read if I concentrated on each word one by one, but otherwise everything was totally scrambled. Words somehow read as other words even though I could see that they weren't, and if I tried reading out loud it was complete gibberish. For instance...

Text as written - "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate"

Text as read - "Shalt of the comrade ta at sorted ded tar at more loving and most temperature"

Text as spoken - "Shart art a compart tata tara summat data? Tah-ra ah mata lala lala art ta tata"

It was very weird, but absolutely fascinating at the same time!

That is really weird, and kinda funny! Must have been interesting for sure. :))
