Yay, happy Forumversary Viola!
So I have been sitting in my room watching this grey housecat somewhat lazily chasing a chipmunk all over my yard, obviously not really trying to catch it, then all of a sudden a mockingbird swoops down and starts mobbing the cat?? Like protecting the chipmunk almost, which is interesting because I've seen them do the same thing to my cat when he tried to eat a baby bird a few years ago, but I didn't think they'd do it for a non-avian. Also after my cat tried to eat the baby there would always be a mockingbird by him, sounding an alarm call for the entire spring. Not attacking, just doing the alarm thing, unless he went to a nest tHEN IT WAS TIME FOR A SMACKDOWN. And I'd watch them switch out on guard duty, it was really cool.
So basically what I'm sharing here is don't do the mockingbirds wrong, they will never forget.
