With The Dawn, A New Marathon

Through multiple glades,
And numerous dawns,
Through flames and blades,
The hunt continues on.

Past teeth and talons,
Through ancient stockades,
Like a beacon shone,
Their hope doesn't fade.

For the merest hints,
With brains and brawn.
Not a rapid sprint,
But a great marathon.

Past grey barricades,
Monsters of tin,
Making their raids,
Round occupied inns,

An unending haze,
The warriors within.
Chasing for days,
The wayward Finn.

Through rains, mud slick,
Thunder, winds buffeting.
On rooftops, loosed brick,
From mammoths of sin,

A journey lunatic,
Full of struggling,
A stop far from quick,
So get buckled in.
A man left his Icelandic home
Escaped to Denmark to freely roam
With hair braided red
He got hit on the head
With a crate lid slammed onto his dome

Wings In Suspended Animation, Things Infected Hibernation

Among the verdant leaves,
Beneath the shade of beams,
Under the angled eaves,
Not all is as it seems.

On a clearing by the ferns,
Animation did suspend.
Wings still, overturned,
Frozen in a quiet end.

Beyond the cityscape,
The forests extend beyond,
Hulky curled up shapes,
Obscured by stretching fronds.

Lounging by the way.
Nestled in the foliage, lay.
Making a startling exposé
To any noisy erring prey.
A man left his Icelandic home
Escaped to Denmark to freely roam
With hair braided red
He got hit on the head
With a crate lid slammed onto his dome

Adventure 2, Page 298

The sun shines bright upon the leaves
And all the clouds have parted
Yet though this path’s bedecked with greens
Our fear has not departed

Beneath the beams from years gone by
The hunters three are sleeping
Their bloodied, battered bodies lie
A danger closely creeping

And laying still upon their sides
Their lungs devoid of breath
The dancers of the skies so wide
Have fallen down to death
I write poetry sometimes.

Bears Inhabiting, Rare Revisiting

The three bears supine,
Sharing space squatted.
One speared, like spines,
One headless and rotted.

One declawed into bone,
Spiked and battle torn.
Mammoths unbroken prone,
Damage and weapon worn.

A mystic connection,
Spectral, phantasmal.
Just out of detection,
A phenomenon paranormal.

A black orb swirling,
Debris, leaf, twisting.
Then the vortex uncurling,
A quiet waning existence.

A little window's peek.
A little wing on a mission.
A little phantom's beak.
A little vision in position.
A man left his Icelandic home
Escaped to Denmark to freely roam
With hair braided red
He got hit on the head
With a crate lid slammed onto his dome

Stealthy Sprite, Stay Out Of Sight

Raising skin crumpled,
Its head, putrid brute.
Keep out of trouble,
Slip back, quickly scoot.

Without even a tweet,
The bright bird takes flight.
Reconnaissance complete,
The guardian sprite.

Through leaf and cement,
A jungle she leaves.
While focused, hell-bent,
The busy hands weave.
A man left his Icelandic home
Escaped to Denmark to freely roam
With hair braided red
He got hit on the head
With a crate lid slammed onto his dome

Why are you here, little bird?
Did not the swan claim you from the waters?
This is not your home anymore - you fly
Unseen, you speak unheard by all
Except one. Is he your reason?
He walks towards his own doom -
You know that, and yet still
You remain. Do you protect him?
He wanted to protect you -
He is drowning in the weight of his failure.
His waters are dark (the water was dark)
He is sinking (you sank down) but
If you try hard enough then maybe,
Just maybe - he will swim.
Why are you here, little bird?
Did not the swan claim you from the waters?
This is not your home anymore.
I write poetry sometimes.

Point The Way... Okay

Attention is caught,
Taking a moment to plan.
A finger gun shot
By the gruff grizzled man.

His digit a roost,
For invisible kin?
Or is madness induced
And imagining things?

Hearing unspoken words,
Instructions recommended,
But he looks quite absurd,
With his finger extended.

No less determined,
No less affected,
Another Hotakainen,
Is he likewise connected?

Well I got bored the other day and I decided to make acrostic poems for each of the main crew. It was considerably harder than expected. Anyway here goes!

Red headed dreamer
Eyes opened wide
You left home in a crate
Not liking being kept inside
Inside you lives magic
Runes made to help

Like a cat you
Are mysterious and hard to read
Let yourself be liked and
Loved even
If they are "Stupid!"

Kittycat
In your spot on
The human's head
Twitching your tail
You keep guard

Twittering bird
Upon that tree branch
Unafraid for what's to come
Ready to fight
In your place: beside your family

Electric sparks leap
Mesmerising you as they
Incinerate forests; destroying to rebuild
Lovely, beautiful, fire

On the grumpy side you
Neglect to wear a smile but
Nobody is fooled we know that
Inside, you care

Man of few words, the
Image of stoicism, you
Keep the crew from falling to pieces
Knowing to keep calm
Even in the worst of situations you are
Levelheaded

Serving as an expedition leader
Is understanding that a
Great captain never
Runs from danger
Unless there is
No one left to save

Vain Geezer Solved The Brain-teaser

The impatient scout,
Strolling about.
His arms crossed,
Staring with frost.

His eyes shooting holes,
Waiting for slow bro.
Okay, translate that!
Where are they at?

He tries this riddle,
Are they in the middle?
What does the sign say...
The city centre's that way?

The meatball most best
Has solved the great test.
Do they really plan to go there?
Enter the centre if you dare...

"Why Not?" She Said, Follow The Mage-Threads

Sure, why not proceed?
Where else would they go?
The mage threads that way lead,
So they must follow as shown.

They'll do an initial sweep,
And assess the danger status.
Leaning on the wires, the dweeb,
Triggering the manic magus.

The other thing or things
Is touching the barrier again,
And it's close contacting
This time, unlike back then.

The shabby mage quite unhappy
At the intruders at their space.
Let's hope they don't get stabby
Before meeting face-to-face.

Please please please tell me that “The Meatball” is now a new nickname for Emil.

Among other things, sure, why not?
