Pg. 313

Books Up, Books Down (based on Look Up, Look Down by America)

Books up, books down
Gotta find me a wall to punch my fist in and pound
Books up, books down
Gettin' tired of that Emil flailin' around

Everybody says give him a second chance
But that'll be the seventy-second time in advance
Books up, books down
Emil's fails still astound

Books up, books down
Watch the whole wide world spinnin' around
Books up, books down
Gotta stop that Emil panicking now

Everybody says give him a second chance
But that'll be the seventy-second time in advance
Books up, books down
Crayons land on his crown

Books up, books down
Bones of a dead hamster skeleton corpse that we found
Books up, books down
Get these books to fill this bag put on the ground

Get these books to fill the bag put on the ground
Get these books to fill the bag put on the ground
Grab the bag and carry the books out from this ground

---------------------------------------------------

Untitled

Sigrun retrieves her punching arm from the wall,
She'll probably need it again before too long.
Emil gets stuck on the head by the plaster that falls.
He can't have a hair out of place, that would be wrong.

This place is too cold for any troll to survive.
The walls are too flimsy in this dingy and dark place.
A troll nest would freeze too solid in there to thrive.
But if you see a beast here, shoot it in the face.

Emil reaches up to the cupboard but confound,
A suprise crayon trap it was he had sprung.
For the plastic wrapped books that she found,
Sigrun then brings out her stabilising tongue.

She spots a dead creature that's nothing but bones
Emil beside with a piteous sort of look.
Attention is then drawn to this one book that's shown.
What is the subject matter of this mystery book?

A little drinking song for our drinking game...

Drinking game song (Comments SSSS)
based on
Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar) by Bertold Brecht, music Kurt Weill

Well, show me the way
To the next drinking game
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why

Show me the way
To the next drinking game
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why

For if we can find
The next trigger here
I tell you we must drink
I tell you we must drink
I tell you, I tell you
I tell you we must drink

Oh, when you mourn the hamster
We drink a toast to you
The little sad class-hamster
And must have drinks all, oh, this is so true

Oh, is this just a book there
We drink a toast to you
Why DVD? We´ll point to
and take a drink all, oh you will too

Well, show me the way
to the gender mistakes
Oh, don't ask why
Thirsty, that's why

Show me the way
to the next Sigrun punch
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why

For if we don't find
The next drinking rule
I tell you we will wail
I tell you we will sulk
I tell, you, I tell you
I tell you we will cry

Oh, faithful comment-writers
I'm really full right now
I raise my glass to you though
And I will drink now, oh, you know why

One filk here, and then the next 15 posts after this will document "Haiku Day" from page 312.

Pg 312, in response to corncobman's "Hello, My Baby" filk

"The Building Is Blown"
from "The Michigan Rag"
by C. Jones

Go on tell them that the building is blown
Come on tell them that the building is blown

Burn it down
Or blow
It up

Just pick
All the kittens up

Roast, Toast, *Host* the building up
Smoke, *choke*, broke the building up
Go, throw, blow the building again
Blow it again!

HAIKU DAY (Pg 312) Post 1
--
Ruby
Let us remember
this day as Haiku Day, for
obvious reasons.

Ruby -> Sunflower
Today's page will be
up in a couple of ho'rs.
Go to sleep or do

Something else for an
hour and all will be well
Again, says Minna.

See, even Minna speaks in Haiku!

LooNEY_DAC -> Ruby
"Even Minna speaks in haiku"
Ah, but Minna speaks in runo!
Dashing hopes for early updates
Hear the melancholy wailing
Lamentations full of anguish
...
Something something something something
Watermelons with green gravy
...
La di da di dum
La di da di dum
What's the name of that song?
...
Heffalumps and Woozles

Disqus eating posts is annoying.

AmityM -> LooNEY_DAC
"Watermelons with green gravy"
You have me laughing in hysterics.

Sunflower -> AmityM
"Had me laughing in hysterics"
Said the hapless Disqus reader.
Runo meter is addictive
And keeps going on forever.
...
Heffalumps and Woozles playing.

AmityM -> Sunflower
It gets you with its rhythm,
And it makes you really wonder
If, before we all had language
In the age of ice and darkness
On the surface of the glaciers,
There once first felt the pattern
In the stirring of her bloodstream
Some ancient human forebear
Who, feeling it pulse through her
And incline her feet to tapping,
Became disposed to singing
And then the syllables of speech
I hope you will forgive me
For my ragged improv verses
It's now late and I should slumber
But my work is never-ending
Or at least it sometimes seem so
In the cool Pacific night time
Of my home in California
By the dark and jewel-bound bay
Lo, twas brillig and the slithey
Toves did gyre and gimbal
And so outgrabed were all the
Mimsey borogroves
Beware this Jabberwocky
For its meter will not fit here
Though I try and try to force it
None of you are fooled.

Sadoka Ytrap
Hats off to you all!
I would stay awake longer,
But Haiku's scare me.
Good Night!

Luth Nightbreeze -> Sadoka Ytrap
Well, I have school tomorrow, so I should get some sleep, but as a friend once said "Sleep is for the weak!" Time to watch anime whilst I wait... Goodbye fellow Minnions.

Ruby -> Luth Nightbreeze
Me too.... lack of sleep
hurts on AP tests tomorrow.
But I shall persist!

Sunflower -> Ruby
Good luck! Knock 'em dead! (....er, so to speak. I think people learn quickly not to say that to Sigrun...)

Ruby -> Sunflower
Thank you, Sunflower!
Though I am a senior and
Caring much is hard. ;)

Auleliel -> Ruby
Good luck to Ruby!
AP tests are challenging,
but you can do it!

Auleliel -> Luth Nightbreeze
Good night and sleep well!
The next update awaits you
when next you awake.

HAIKU DAY (Pg 312) Post 3

Luth Nightbreeze -> Auleliel
AHHH! THE HAIKUS! Forget the rash disease, soon everybody will be speaking in haiku.
Rash is forgotten
Haiku is come to the fans
We like poetry.

Auleliel -> Luth Nightbreeze
I'm terribly sorry.
I did not intend
to cause you such worry
or pain, my dear friend.
If haikus are so painful
I will surely desist.
To hurt you is not gainful.
I shall try to resist.

Maija -> Sadoka Ytrap
Good morning! I just woke up.

Ruby -> Maija
The sun has risen!
The day dawns bright on Minnions,
waiting for updates.

Huntra -> Ruby
The sun is setting,
The night darkens on Minnions,
and the cats will purr.

Auleliel -> Huntra
'Tis mid-afternoon
Mayhaps I shall wait it out
at the cinema.

HAIKU DAY (Pg 312) Post 4

Ruby -> Ruby
(someone please help me,
my tongue is trapped, I can type
only in these haikus.)

LooNEY_DAC -> Ruby
She needs our help
She needs our care
She's writing haiku
Ev'rywhere
Haiku do have her
Under their spell
But shortly all will
Soon be well

AmityM -> Ruby
In terms of writing,
It's not how much but how good.
Cherry blossoms fall.

Auleliel -> Ruby
There once was a Minnion online
Who had trouble when trying to rhyme
She sent out a plea
for some help, you see
and now she does haiku all the time...

Ruby -> Auleliel
This Minnion loved rhyming and meter
And these haikus, she knew, would beat her
So she struggled against it,
Found new forms to test out,
And lo! The limerick was sweeter.

AmityM -> Ruby
Now bravely comes the Minnion
Like a hero of the ancients
As she contemplates the testing
Of her advancéd placement
In trochaic tetrameter
Like it was the Kalevala
Or that poem by Longfellow
On the shores of Gitchee Goomee
Sleep now soundly, Ruby,
And go boldy forth tomorrow
Let the red of dawn awake you
And fear no testing service
For your future is unwritten
It is more than lead-filled bubbles
You will master this next challenge
And proceed into the day.

Ruby -> AmityM
Eee! Thanks so much, Amity! I'm sure it'll go well, I feel very prepared. :)

Ruby -> Sadoka Ytrap
Another Minnion
tumbles tired off to bed.
Sleep well, Sadoka.

Adrai -> Ruby
Alas, internet
Dies for me all too early
And I leave as well.

Ruby -> Adrai
Ode to Sigrun's Fist
It is strong
it does no wrong
It punches hard
DIE WALL DIE!

LooNEY_DAC -> Dest
A ghostly voice speaks:
"Check the Fan-Forum, O Dest!
Check the Fan-Forum!"

The SSSS Addict's Haiku:
I hear the F5s
All pressing in their thousands
Where is the update?

Minna's Response:
The update will come
I have it almost ready
So don't you worry

Maeve Robinson -> LooNEY_DAC
How I curse you,
Stupid misleading refresh!
Um............
I can't make it work.

Maeve Robinson -> Maeve Robinson
I am constantly
Upvoting my friends Haiku(s?).
Must keep scrolling through.

LooNEY_DAC -> Maeve Robinson
If you hit it right
The problem might just vanish
Or perhaps it won't

Ruby -> Maeve Robinson
Excuse me! Haiku police here! We demand you remove the offending syllable from above poem at ONCE, or else you will be punished by having to eat an entire jar of cookies! ;)
(just kidding, I loved it! ;) )

Still failed at rewrite.

Can I mess it up
Just to gain possession of
the

corncobman -> LooNEY_DAC
"Before the update I submit,
With your impatient views,
And I will delay it,
Just to spite all of you!

Wait a little bit longer
I'll not update yet, nah
Your impatience grows stronger
Muahahahahahahahah"

Auleliel -> corncobman
Minna's not that mean.
She wouldn't do that, would she?
Or...maybe she would...

corncobman -> Auleliel
She's probably sleeping.
Patience all you lot.
In her head dreaming
Unpleasant story plots.

LooNEY_DAC -> corncobman
In the Minna-verse
Unpleasant is fantastic
So dream on, Minna

Auleliel -> corncobman
I don't F5 yet,
Probably is too early.
Poetry is fun.

Unwary -> Auleliel
I had many choices
Many thoughts needing voices...
Simply, I agree.

Ruby -> Unwary
Alas I seek some
poetry to help distract
me until update.

Adrai -> LooNEY_DAC
Standing still in awe
Of Looney's mad poetry
Then hit the F 5.

Auleliel -> Adrai
It is rather good.
Looney is quite talented.
We F5 in vain?

corncobman -> Auleliel
Why do we haiku?
F5 for something anew
Stuck to screens like glue

Auleliel -> corncobman
Haiku is Most Best,
And so are Minna's comics.
We can't *not* F5...

LooNEY_DAC -> Auleliel
We are the addicts
Jonesing for our update now
And we F5 on

Auleliel -> LooNEY_DAC
I only came on
To check the cinema times...
And ended up here....

corncobman -> Auleliel
F5 eagerness
Getting impatience and stress
Hope for plot progress

Adrai -> Auleliel
I've been here all day
Lurking and looking out for
The most best comments.

LooNEY_DAC -> Adrai
None of us can leave
The promise of an update
It holds us fast here

Adrai -> LooNEY_DAC
The exit ran off
Or was it merely a sign
Held by a small troll?

Auleliel -> Adrai
Did you find any?
Or was your search all in vain?
(I woke up just now.)

Adrai -> Auleliel
There have been many
Such wonderful thought process!
I could not name them.

Auleliel -> Adrai
I'm glad to hear it.
I was in the earlier
Discussions, then slept.

Adrai -> Auleliel
It seems you're lucky
To have an update first thing
What a good wake up!

Auleliel -> Adrai
It's only first thing
Because I always sleep in...
But, yes, it is good!

corncobman -> Auleliel
As Minna still dreams
We've all got too much time it seems
Posting to extremes

Auleliel -> corncobman
We post and we wait, Minna dreams.
What will happen next to the team?
We impatiently wait
For the comic update...
Will it cause our dear Cleanser to scream?
