Wavewright, I know that one all too well! My stepmother worked as a home carer for the aged until she retired at way past the usual age for doing so. A year later, the district council she had worked for took her back on as a trainer for other aged carers, which basically translated to doing her old job with a trainee or two in tow, to demonstrate to them both how to do it right, and how to do it with courtesy and kindness, a matter which was not adequately covered in the formal aged-care classes of the time. I have often heard her talk about having been to see 'poor old Mr. X', whom I knew to be a good twenty years younger than she was!
