I thought you might have red-green colour blindness. That's a thing in that condition, right? Not being able to see red? Teacher of mine has it and claims he can't see red, but he says a lot of things so I don't know who to trust.
In deuteranopia (red-green colour blindness) you can't see a difference between red and green. It's not like everything is fine except red and green is exactly the same, everything from from the green-blue border down to infra-red is a single tone of varying intensity depending on brighness, like such:
It also washes most everything else out, such as purple, as you can't perceive the red component.
