Some sort of leather, which I assume the runes would be heat-pressed into? I have an uncle who is a leatherworker so I could probably ask him about it, although I haven't seen him in many years. That casting mat they're laid out on is also a carrying pouch, there's a string around the edge which can fold it up.

Interesting! I've seen sets carved or burned into leather, or cut into or painted on small stones or pieces of bone, or cut into little chunks of clay which are then baked hard, but the method I learned was to cut or burn them into discs of wood cut from the branch of a fruit-bearing tree. Yours are pretty!
