I would most likely be seamstress, in Keuruu. Someone got to make and mend those military uniforms, and there's civilians who need clothing too. Possibly I would have some herb stuff going on the side, you need specific plants for dyes and you can collect healing plants at the same time

As for me, my friends have more or less decided that, were I to be in any military position, I would be a scout.
However, I don't think I'd do well in the military.  I also have slightly impaired vision, but that's easily worked around with glasses.

More realistically, my interest in folklore might manifest in mage abilities - though this is also questionable given my ancestry, since which gods would consider me theirs??? - and if it didn't I would likely be one of those long-suffering scientists researching the Rash and possible cures.

I can't believe I forgot archaeology! I'd probably be a Silent World archaeologist/researcher! But not a historian... Maybe an archaeologist-biologist?

I'd probably be a skald. I honestly can't see myself in any other position, though I think I could be a decent troll hunter if I was whipped into shape hard enough. =P

Well, even postapocalyptic world has schools and they need teachers, right?
So I'd probably be one of those teachers, trying to interest kids with my no-longer needed things  :'D

but, honestly, I think there's a lot of things they are still taught at schools (I mean, apart from maths or geometry) that they really need.
So I'd like to help in that way.

Actually, I think basic math would be useful in post-apocalyptic world. Don't know how useful artsy stuff would be then, but I'd say math, (first) language and history would be most needed from current curriculum.

Biology (including grossllingology and recognizing edible stuff in the wild), chemistry (explosives and flamethrower fuel), and of course PE would be kinda obvious, too. I'ld even add physics / classical mechanics, as a lot of "humans helping themselves without industrial supplies" is exactly that.

Nerdity is probalby more of a luxury in the Y90 world, so you might have to settle for skald.

Well, I mean, every society needs people who do the non action jobs. Teachers, professors, scientists, engineers, historians, librarians, accountants, politicians etc. Even in a more violent world.

Hardly. People tend to forget that not all of America is megalopolis, there are plenty of places with low enough population densities for people to survive plagues in.

For example, literally all of Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas.
