I think she was surprised for about one second, when she saw the fire. Then she looked around for Emil, and realized the situation was actually rather mundane.
(I only hope Lalli wasn't inside that tent, sleeping off a scouting run...)

Anyway, hey, I did write something for Surprise! It's almost the start of a political/action thriller, starring Reynir--but don't worry it's shortish at 666 words. (That said, I am almost tempted to continue it, but not sure I can find the time. So I am dumping it in my new ficlet collection.)

Not that I am going to write anything, since I am clearly completely lacking in inspiration*, but is there a new prompt?

I would suggest 'job interview', for personal reasons. (Well, among other things, I think it has a lot of comedy potential. Although maybe someone will be able to turn it dark?)

I think that given what we know about how bad troll hunts and outbreaks can be, a job interview that delves into Sigrun's experience could potentially get pretty dark.  Sigrun super casual about it, of course.

Note the dates. This person may be surprised after all, about what is plausible and what isn’t.

I was reading about a prepper and how they have a joke abound the zombie apocalypse and how no one believes it’s a possibility, but it’s good to prepare for because if you are prepared survive that you are prepared for anything.
