There is a new series called "Last of Us" that is based on the video game.  (it takes 1,2,10 and rolls it up)

It is based that people turn into monster by being infected by a muted fungus called Cordyceps.  (Global warming caused the mutation)

This fungus does do that to insects currently

I have no interest in watching the series because this is stuff of nightmares for me.

Though when I first saw the ads for this, my thoughts went straight to SSSS.

Cordyceps species, more correctly Ophiocordyceps nowadays, are terrifying to think of on the human scale. Scary enough when infesting ants and caterpillars!

Do we want a prompt? Or maybe a chance for people to catch up?
I have been a bit busy (and sick, ugh) to do much myself, and I see everyone else has been equally quiet.

I hope you feel better shortly.  I think RL has interrupted everyone :)

Yes, RL has been complicated... :) And, as you all can probably guess, it has been for me too. So a week for people to catch up may be a good idea.

Meanwhile, the show must go on, and I'll try to make something anyway, even if it's just something simple like a 100K words novel... ;D

Big hugs!

Hey, I really did something, and it's not a 100K words novel! :)

It's on AO3: A Chance

With some special thanks to tehta and lwise for the inspiration!

Hello people! I am writing again! Nowhere as much as in the height of my fandom obsession, but writing is writing. I had almost forgotten what it felt like to go from a blank page to a story.

Anyway, I soon hope to link to a completed story about dopplegangers (aka twins), but for now, I have a story that centers around a job interview of sorts? At least, that's the prompt fill I was going for. here.
Strong warnings:
1, it is a modern-day AU, and a rather silly example of the genre, at that. (I have never written one before.)
2, It is Emilalli. There is no smut (for now?) but it's a straight-up ship fic with no redeeming qualities.
If that doesn't put people off, here it is: Incalmo.

Really nice story, tehta! (already left a comment on AO3)

I'm glad that you're back at writing, and your modern-day AU is quite well done. It feels very natural. :)

(and "warning" it's an Emilalli story in my case actually works more as bait...)

Definitely bait. And the concept of Emil as a glass artist (like - was it Olga?on the Forum) has a definite charm.

Tehta, it’s lovely! And it’s great to have you ”back”. I’m still knackered with whatnots.

Tehta,
Great.  I Like the modern fiction.

I have done some glass work (though real simple stuff like tumblers and pumpkins)  I like lamp work making beads and what not.

I miss being able to do it.  I dont have the money for the equipment nor the space.  Emil's space read really nice :)

Thank you all! I am glad that people are enjoying this comfort story. I hope to continue it.

I used to have a nice flameworking setup in my flat, but it's currently at my partners dad's (he uses it to weld). I have also done enough proper glassblowing classes that I am rent a bench in a hotshop and make my own vases, wonky wine glasses etc. (Hopefully with another person, so we can act as each other's assistants. Making your own pontis is very stressful. I see poor Emil as working mostly alone though!) It's so addictive! But, yeah, it's no longer in my budget, either.
