Hey remember when I said that there isn't enough classical music in this thread ?
I actually learned the violin part of this piece for lessons while I was still working on my music minor at uni. As the name "Romanian Folk Dances" suggests it's based on traditional Romanian folk music. My professor suggested it to me after I told her that I was kinda bored with the more baroque-ish stuff and wanted something a bit more fiddle-y to work on, but like not American style fiddle-y. Unfortunately the only American composers I can bring myself to enjoy are the minimalists like Phillip Glass and Steve Reich.
