And herons are so beautiful. I love to watch them caring for their chicks. Pity about their voices, but they are such elegant, graceful birds.

Hehe, not all of them are so bad sounding, this lil guy kinda sounds cute. I kinda don't mind the sounds of herons though for the same reason I don't mind seagull calls, I think they're pretty comical sounding x3 albeit if I hear too much of it too long it does get annoying, and it's not pleasant to hear when I'm trying to sleep . .

Sounds like a gentler version of the call of our native Blue Heron.

Ooh, you have Blue Herons there too? They're such aesthetically pleasing birds. (Although I will never get over that gif of the green heron where it looks approximately kingfisher-shaped until it turns and then stretches its head out and it suddenly has like as much neck as body)

My favorite is pickled heron, in cream sauce.
Keep an eye on me. I shimmer on horizons.

I'd probably be a sparrow. Small, bouncy, fluffy, and much better at hiding than fighting!

I'd quite like to be a Great Grey. Something about owls is just so smug- they know they won the evolutionary lottery, with their silent wings and superb hearing. I'd like to have one of those 'special snowflake' animals for a luonto. Also, I think the plumage and face-shape of Great Greys are particularly beautiful.
If I can't have beautiful, I'll go straight for hysterically awkward. For that? I'm thinking Burrowing Owls.
I saw the future.

Oh gosh haha, I should have figured, Herons don't seem like they have a whole lot of meat on them that would make it worth it to catch and eat them, they're rather slender birds.

Excuse the double post and the necromancy, but I was thinking about how I only said heron because even though I actually really feel the raptor family a lot more, I said heron only because I felt like saying my luonto would be an apex predator like a bird from the raptor family would be pretentious for some reason and didn't think I lived up to the ferocity of one. Then I remembered Onni, who cries all the time and is always scared about something but he still gets a raptor for his luonto. So if Onni can have a raptor for his luonto, then so can I.

Anyway, I think I might go with a gyrfalcon. They're mostly solitary, semi-migratory (over the past six years I don't think I've lived in the same place consecutively for more than a year and would frequently live in my main apartment during the school year but somewhere else for the summer) prefer to live further north where it's colder, and they prefer to live by larger bodies of water and by mountains. Plus, just the bird thing. Like I said in an earlier post, I was always pretty sure it would be a bird of some sorts.
