You remembers my housemate saying I wasn't authorized to buy anything ? The other one made small Christmas presents, and our ex-temporary housemate too. They told me they weren't doing anything for Christmas when I asked how they were celebrating (my two regular housemate were sharing a flat before this house) a few weeks ago. So, I hadn't anything for them this evening If you're looking for me, I'll be hiding somewhere.

Hrm. Their own fault if they didn't warn you that you should have something.  You shouldn't feel bad about that.  Big old American-style hugs offered, if you want.

Today I learned that the fear of having your water shut off can really speed up the shower process.

Hopefully not when you're covered with soap!

Wow.  Me neither, not since the mid-90s & plantar fasciitis.  I was active in Scottish Country Dancing, and performed in the demo  (NOT solo, don't even think it!) in the Stone Mountain Tattoo.  Strathspeys are fun, too (slightly easier on the arches).

What's really fun is living in a dorm, and having the fire alarm go off when you're in the middle of a shower. Happened to me a few times in college.

Ooooh yeah I know people who that's happened to. Me, I was in my jammies and had to run out. I grabbed the first sweater I saw (A giant red christmas sweater) and ran outside, accidentally locking my keys in my dorm. Woops.

One time I had to run out in a bathrobe, the second time I had nothing but a towel (and it was the middle of winter). Fortunately that time someone was kind enough to let me sit in her car until they let us back in.

That happened to me at work last year and it felt really awkward. This year, I made sure to think of something nice for my colleagues way in advance. But I agree that it's their fault for not warning you.
