HAPY NEW YEER (soon)

I didn't plan to make a post here until tomorrow since I'm without my computer and mostly busy with... something (investigating strange symbols on trees, marathoning parks & rec with a friend), but I saw someone express worry for me so I'm here to tell you I'm fine!! I'm in the middle of czech somewhere (i dont even know where on the map. I think im still in moravia), and we have very nice weather, no storm! and no snow, but no fog either. so don't worry about me! I hope everyone else stays safe, too.

I hope everyone will have (or have had) a super spectacular new year's eve!!

(welp, the serving of whale meat was just announced. Not sure if im gonna eat that.)

Yes, do lets! Baby animals of all kinds! Puggles. Bettongs. Bilbies. Tiny snakelets. Cute transparent baby scorpions (I love how they ride on their mum's back, and dive under her front claws when anything dangerous comes along).

Laufey, that's so pretty! Do adders have the same deal as our brown snakes, with the babies being far more venomous than the adults (which are bad enough)?

Adders really are pretty, I agree! The bite of a baby is worse than a full grown one's, but that's just because they don't yet know how to control the amount of venom they use so they give you full blast. An adult adder might even bite you without using venom at all, because it takes a lot of energy to make and is needed for catching prey. Then again an adult adder would rather avoid confrontation altogether, adders are notoriously shy so stomping a bit as you walk usually guarantees you no adders - the only time we came across one and almost stepped on it we (my grandma, mother and me) were wearing soft-soled party shoes so it probably didn't notice us coming. Even then it merely hissed at my mother, didn't attempt to bite at all.

@people launching fireworks outside my room: if you feel the need to yell "RUUUUUN" at the person lighting the thing, you're doing it wrong. (ok, if you're launching big fireworks inside city limits, you're also doing it wrong, but that's a Safety Moment for another day)
