DancingRanger I'd feel the same way, except then I'd 'nope' nearly half the week away xD

RandomTexanReader unfortunately the last time I tried that I only about a week xD
I've always had an interesting sense of special awareness--it's like I'll acknowledge something is a certain distance from me, then get distracted and promptly forget just in time to hit some part of my body somewhere xD does that count as clumsiness? I've never actually been sure...

RealRedCloudYT same xD

*pokes* this is random and unrelated to your post but not too long ago Haiz and I talked about your cats, because I mentioned I used to have a kitten named Crookshanks.

That's an awesome name for a cat.

Yes, it is. She even answered to it like a dog. a small fluff-ball dog.

Is that like Slug-bug?
"Let it be known that Slug Bug, for the uninitiated, is the game of riding in the car and noticing a Volkswagen Beetle, then calling out “SLUG BUG!” and slugging your neighbor in the upper arm."

We also do "bingo" for yellow cars, but for slug-bug, we yell "Slug-Bug!" and keep punching them until they can say what color it is. I've seen friendships 'end' over it :P

Where I live yellow VW bugs are "Banana-slugs" and worth two punches. If it's just a yellow car you don't do anything, but if you see a car with a missing headlight you yell "Spunklight!" and punch the ceiling.

I only ever played it with my sisters. We'd always say the color, "punchbuggy red!", before punching. And it was two for flinching.

Yeeeah, I never hurt anyone but my sisters and I always refrained from telling our cousins about the game (I have no idea whether they had a version of it where they live, but it was safer not to mention it) because they would actually beat each other up. (there's three of them, and they're all guys)

i'm so sleepy today, i haven't really felt like interacting with people today and much more like laying down on the soft carpet floor of the hotel and take a nap. I didn't though, I've been on my feet all of my work time and I even tried to clean my first room. By 'tried' i mean i did it, all on my own, but it took one and a half hour and i had a lot of mistakes. the ideal would be to do it under half an hour because sometimes that's all the time you get at making a room, but hey for a first try it wasn't all that bad i think!

edit: i have also finally managed to snag a hotel candy for myself. it tasted cherry-ish i think

otherwise i have, for no reason in particular, translated the poem/text thingie i wrote for UKM last year. (UKM is a culture festival for youth and i participate by reading poems on stage)
it's kinda long, weird, written in the middle of the night, and full of advice i don't listen to myself. it also sounds kind of awful in english but kind of awful in norwegian too, but by awful i mean more embarassing than actually bad, idk. im gonna post it here either way for those who are interested i guess

Spoiler: show

Some times
you lie in the upper bunk bed in a room at the uppermost floor of the building, staring
out the window and listen to your pulse through the pillow
and the rhythm grows rapid as if
heart beats are wild beasts hiding in the forest and just now realized you are observing
and you realize
your own heart is so
foreign
far away
a creature you have captured in the prison of your lungs

so maybe that is an odd thought
you know, like life,
life is odd, let me present to you
existential crises dawning upon me as I desperately try to fall sleep

I am scared of a great many things
and what I fear the most may be
the future

the future is pandora’s pithos of choices and mistakes waiting to be made, and
all of my uncertainty

some times

thinking about the future is
a little overwhelming

stars are overwhelming too
I am no astronomer but let me talk about stars for a bit anyway
in their journey through our ceiling of sky, they slash through the firmament
like
scars

exactly like scars

did you know the stars are so far away
that the light we see right here, right now,
is the light of centuries, millenias ago?
their tracks are scratches through time and space and

some times

I forget they are the ones to stay still
and we are the ones going in circles
and
our bodies are made of star dust
and our souls, of stories

did anyone ever say
reality wasn’t capable of being poetic, well, it is

my point
is this:
and this is important
because when everything else seems too important,
take a deep breath of the night air
look at the stars
or just
breathe
think about stars

stars

no matter how catastrophical the mistakes
my future holds
it won’t matter to the stars
we can’t even touch the stars
even if the earth got blown apart by nuclear weapons
the stars will be okay

and although I hope earth will be okay, too
and that, honestly, no one as much as pokes a nuclear weapon
it’s a little nice to think about that no matter how badly I should mess up
the stars don’t care
they care so little
they don’t care to update us with fresh light, they’re just throwing their pasts at us, they don’t care if we want it or not,
it’s what we get

the sun though
the sun is a star
that cares
about us
and seven other planets that don’t even contain life

so

we’re kind of insignificant
and that is so important
because
under the protection of our insignificance we can
build civilizations and create art and drink rain water and cut our hair and read books and

make mistakes

we just have to
give ourselves room to be human
at least
most of the time

because we are citizens of stardust and story
so

breathe deep

sleep well
you'll know where to find me.

ITS pretty good. But every single time I write poetry, I get the feeling that its the corniest thing ever?? I guess you must get the same feeling sometimes cause this isn't corny.

I have been away from the forum for less than a week, still there's so many new things to see and a lot of stuff happened and I'm kind of feeling overwhelmed. I mean, I don't want to miss all the fun, but just to think of going through all the new pages makes me feel sooo lazy... D:

So of course, the only solution is to give up and never post again (I'm kidding).
