Not sure what they stand for but the name smacks of ethnocentrism.

and here i was hoping that the true finns were finland's version of the snp. starting to sound more like ukip.

pretty miffed about finland swinging right, it was at the top of my list of places-to-go-to-escape-the-tories...

Maybe not. The Norwegian name for the party is "Sannfinnene" (The true Finns), which I suppose is closer to the Finnish meaning.

Not sure what they stand for but the name smacks of ethnocentrism.

And in the U.S. media, it's the "True Finns" -- which does indeed of smack of ethnocentrism.  Probably why the party has trimmed its name down to just "Finns" (basic or otherwise).

Well. The wikipedia article describes their ideological basis as "Finnish nationalism, Economic nationalism, Social conservatism, Right-wing populism and Euroscepticism". Their policies include :
"Teaching "healthy national pride" in schools";
"Support for cultural activities that "promote Finnish identity"";
"Supporting the traditional family model, opposing same-sex marriage, same-sex adoption";
"Limiting humanitarian immigration strictly to refugee quotas";
"Lowering the refugee quota";
"Opposition to using public funds to advance multiculturalism";
"Opposition to the European Union";
"Limiting foreign Aid"

Sounds a little bit Ukip-y to me in some departments (meant in a non-judgmental way)

Dolphins, while cute-looking, are actually among the jerk-species (Warning, mature content) of the animal kingdom.

The comparison seems not too far fetched then XD, especially while reading the given list of the partie's topics. [big irony here]

I read closer up on what doplhins are capable of doing. uhm. Nature.

( sorry for continuing this, but ordinary finns is propably the closest translation. Thats what their adds seem to target for the very least  :P )

It is pritty intresting that a lot of human behaviour can be obserserved in other species too.

There are even some lesbian bird couples *the more you know*

A childhood friend of mine had a pair of gay rabbits. Well, I say a pair, but it really was just one of them who had any... "interest" in the other.

More interesting is the observation that certain primate species like chimpanzees have mastered the use of tools and can make fire.

Darn, looks like I've got some serious competition in the pun-ishing department. I'll have to up the ante or find a new porpoise.
