Oh lord, what happened there? Are you ok?
Did anybody get hurt? Was it a house that burned?

The house got burned down, nobody hurt to my knowledge. Place was surrounded by spectators. Got some pics

The firetrucks are still there as we speak.

Oh, what a pity, that looks like such a nice house... Does someone live there?

Oh boy, there's been a fire down the street, gonna head there now to snap some photos now that it is under control and all

I'm not accusing you of being a pyromaniac or anything, but the fact that you are posting pictures of burnt-out houses when your username is what it is is pretty amusing.

I found a cool thing: http://map.ipviking.com/#
Its a map that shows in realtime all of the hacking going on in the world and its kind of mesmerizing to watch.

50 $ for a computer!? Are these US dollars? Did you mean 500?

Yup, 50 USD. It was an old computer some guy found in an estate sale. It was made in 1981, and is relatively uncommon, so it's going to be a pain finding a new one. It's not that big of a deal, but it still saddens me.

Yeah, but they weren't home at the time of the fire. From what I've gathered they're currently being sheltered by nearby family. An old couple, from what I've heard.

That is really interesting to watch. While I was looking the US was both the top country being hacked and hacking by a lot. The military/government was second.

Good to know everyone is ok. I lived in California when I was 10 (I've lived all over the place) and I remember there was a huge wildfire and we had to be evacuated. It was really scary, the sky was orange from the smoke and all of this ash was falling from the sky.

Kex: this article sums up the issue pretty well: Article

Thank you stell! I ended up trying to understand this graphic. I am sure I do not fail cause my english lacks the vocab. But my brain refuses to decifer evaluation process describing posters which seem as complicated as german ones.

I am very happy that people are moving out and hope they might have some success. You see the difference if a classroom is filled with 30+ people or with just 22. And the material we get from financial groups or lokal banks are kinda hard focussing on "you are a primary school child but sign your building-loan-agreement here, here and here!".

Beach vacation is officially on until Wednesday.  The house we're staying in is incredible, and I'll link to son pictures of it later when my computer is charged.  Also, one of my guitar strings popped on the way over here, and I had to restring it.  Not a problem normally, but it's been over a year since I strung it up last (those strings lasted an unusually long time), so I kept making mistakes and realizing half way through and having to undo everything.  Took me about two hours to get it done, and it still doesn't look pretty. XD

It's really good to jump into a jumper after a whole day of wearing a god damn dress with a really uncomfortable tie. Just lean back and relax.

I agree, I absolutely hate how uncomfortable western formal/work wear is. Why couldn't it be kimonos or viking tunics.

Also the English word "dress" (nor: kjole) does not mean the same as the Norwegian word "dress". But maybe it wasn't a false friend in this case.
