This summer we didn't have any Sun in the north. Which sucks. I came on the south to enjoy at least a little summer...

... this week it rains every day.

On the plus side, people here are much, much friendlier than in the north.

Well, rain can be nice sometimes.  It's my favorite weather, so I'm a little biased though.

Hm, I live pretty far in the south, so I've gone swimming during rain before, and it's actually pretty cool.  It feels very different, cause all the water is moving around you on the surface from all the ripples that the rain makes.

For me, it's above the signature option.  It might be an admin/mod thing only... I'm not sure.
Also, is my avatar visible?  I put up a gif.  It shows up and animates for me, but I wanna know if it works properly across the interwebs or not.

Yes, it does! I'll try and do the same with my avatar... once it's morning and I'm awake, anyway.

SMF uses BBCode.  It's like html, but it uses square brackets, and has some different code here and there.  The "insert picture" button is below "Bold," and the "insert url" button is below "Italics."
Play around with the buttons above the text field, when making a post, to see each kind of code, and then click the "preview" button next to "post" to see its effect.

The family of markup is called "BBcode", and the SMF-specific list is here. (Found it somewhere in the online help, which is linked in the dark-ish menu bar close to the top of the pages.)
