I love singalongs. We have a music night at my house once a month, mostly singers, but occasionally various instrumentalists - it's great fun. Mostly folk, filk, a bit of classical and stuff that some of us write. I can't close my hands well enough to play the greatharp anymore, so a friend who can play has it on permanent loan until time for my kids to inherit it. I still play the small table harp, my husband bought me a soft-strung one when the wire strings became too much for my hands, and I still can sometimes get a tune out of mandolin, pennywhistle, fiddle and bodhran. Mostly I like to sing.
A lot of the pubs here in the Barossa and the Hills, as well as down in Adelaide, have regular music sessions. I still get to one of those occasionally.
