That's probably why one of my colleagues moved from Ottawa to New York a couple of decades back.

We get -40C in February a lot. Today though it hit -26C, which is already pretty cold. It's supposed to get colder this week. According to my weather app this is the coldest it's been here at this time of year for like 30 years. :O (here is Ottawa, Canada btw)

When it gets this cold, we just leave our stuff outside instead of putting it in the freezer. Is cheaper. :P
I'm not kidding, my uncle has an entire balcony dedicated to this.
Yikes. While we're on the subject, guess who drove to school in blizzard-like conditions today? *points at self* It was pretty scary, we could only see about 10 feet outside the car.

Have you got a storm system in your area? Or are blizzards a regular thing where you live?

I used to live in the same city, and they are a regular thing. It doesn't always get particularly cold, but the lake effect especially means piles upon piles of snow.

Yeah, our weather is being weird again. Last night was 3C, cold enough to need a fire, while last week we had a day that reached 37C. My little cinnamon tree, which I had hauled out of the greenhouse and had put in its summer spot on the front porch, is Not Happy with all the changes.

Now this is some ridiculous weather yo-yo.

Meanwhile here it seems we will be actually getting a proper winter this year.

Living near water and in cold climates - in the winter it's almost unbearable. But on the other hand you know how to survive!

We are practically your twin location wise :P

Today it's like -30C out. I was going to go for a run but now I'm thinking I will stay inside. On top of all this we have a                   winter storm warning for tomorrow. It's like the exact opposite from last year.

Yeah, we had a pretty mild winter last year, didn't we. Personally I think it's nice to have some proper "sit by the fire with a cup of tea" kind of weather.

And yeah, it's about the same temperature here. My morning run however is not optional, I need to get to the bus :P

I used to live up in the mountains of California USA, and it was great! Snowy and cold and just below freezing the whole winter, as winter was intended to be. But now I live in Florida and I have no seasons. Oh, well. I don't envy you -30C people, my lukewarm weather is much more bearable.

I know, I know! I just thought it was something like smekalochka xD

By the way, yes. Last year we had a very warm winter, there was even a +3C somewhere around December 29th. This year I'm was happy like "we finally have cold winter!!", but apparently, the weather decided otherwise хD

Oh, well. I don't envy you -30C people, my lukewarm weather is much more bearable.
Well, it depends. For me personally much easier to live in a climate with permanent snow and cold, than with +20С or more. So just live in your area and be happy.  :)

Maybe TMI? It concerns rats. And plumbing.
Spoiler: show
Seriously, there are rats in the plumbing system at work, they managed to get in after renovation work on local pipes. And a mail went out to everone to keep toilets seats Closed When Unoccupied, and flush before you go as well. Because of the rats. And then some ass *ahem* very innovative person placed this thing in the bathroom.

That moment when you only see it in your peripheral vision and don't recognize it for the toy it is? Yes, I jumped.

Unlos, that's just evil! I would be so scared to go to the bathroom anyway in that situation, I'd probably have a heart attack if I saw that.
