Er....pumpkin smash? Is that a traditional autumn dish where you are?

It's basically a pumkin pie sorbet smoothie.

If you like that you would probably like the roasted pumpkin soup I make: pumpkin and/or sweet potato roasted, then mashed, reheated (not boiled) with just enough milk to make it liquid, and seasoned with nutmeg, clove, coriander, a little salt and fresh thyme and parsley, and served with toasted bread, olive oil and dukkah. Hmmm, haven't made that since Autumn, and still have a few butternut pumpkins stored......

I can be very patient, but waiting 45 minutes under the rain for being authorized to enter in a museum is a "No".

pears poached in cider, with cardamon and cinnamon!

I don't drink, and that sounds very interesting!

Try it with sweet cider -- which is what one starts with to make the alcoholic version; but it has no alcohol to start with.

(Apple juice, at least around here, is a different creature entirely, as it's generally been both cooked and filtered and has an entirely different flavor.)

I see more and more sky across its branches. And - it's the good side- a lot of blue tits, blackbirds, a robin and even a green woodpecker yesterday.

How to confirm that you're having a difficult day :
1. Pour water in the kettle
2. Put the kettle on
3. Fill the jug with water
4. Pour water from the jug on the tea
5. Come back five minutes later and wonder why your tea is perfectly cold

Yeah, it's not the time of year for iced tea, is it?

RIP Sheri S. Tepper

That's very much too bad.

She often had things to say that were well worth thinking about.

-- I didn't realize she was 87.
