It's Minna's fault, isn't it?  Sorry to hear about that!  At least you can tell everyone that it's because you have like 3 minors and majors.
I'm pretty much terrified for next semester, when I go back to classes...

GPA is grade point average.  They look at the number of hours of class you take in a semester, and divide and add some numbers here and there.  An A is a 4, B is a 3, then 2, 1, and an F is a 0.  If I got an A in a 5 hour class, and C in a 4 hour class, I'd have (4*5)+(2*4)=28... uh... somethings, and then 28/(4+5)= ~3.1  so I'd have a gpa of around 3.1, which is pretty good.

A gpa of 4.0 is perfect, and means you've gotten A's in every class.
Feel free to PM.

Well....that's even MORE confusing.... O____O there must've been a mistake or something.

... Maybe they do it different here.  My high school used a 5 point scale, so a 4.78 would've been really good... Hmm.  Now I'm confused.  Can you find out what grading scale Australia uses?

Just checked Wikipedia, it says it's out of 7 but didn't list my Uni....

4/7 is more reasonable UuU Just what I was expecting. Phew!

Edit:
ah man, I can't find anywhere that says what the mark is out of!

It's either 7 or 10, either of which are fine. I was poop this year/semester. 2nd year hit me hard :P
Agh I guess flunk-year is over ;___;

Oh, in that case I can't give you any useful advice, though I did take some English literature classes myself.

English Lit is great, I love writing essays ^u^ (The assignments and exams aren't crazy-long though, I don't think I could survive really lengthy ones ;___;) but next year I think I should read the set texts and prepare for classes again. Get back on track like before.
I've got next year's reading list and I'm planning to get through it in the Christmas break ÙuÚ

I think all my worry and tears and stress about suddenly not enjoying or being good at French was dragging down all my other subjects too :( so no more French ever! The minor is finished!  I think....

Oh noes, I missed the self-defence discussion :p Well I guess I might have written essays on how to punch most effectively, so maybe it’s good I missed the opportunity ;)
How do you manage with so many majors and minors and other subjects? That sounds really impressive.

You are welcome to give some advise in the topic ;)

I thought while doing some language/cultural/arts studies one always has many major and minor subjects?

I was enlisted  for theological studies some time ago. Major subjects would have been the Theological courses while I would have to study Ancient culture of greek as a minor (or philosophy but that was not open). There was also opportunity of dividing the major into two majors - one would have been regular theology the other history of (mainly protestant) church. That would make two majors and one minor. Another opportunity would have been to take one major and three minors.

And now I get to the point where I start confusing myself ;).
