It's day three of my drawing marathon and I find myself losing motivation as soon as I make one mistake.
I can drag myself through it just fine but most of the fun of drawing is lost at that point and I feel I've kinda bricked my progress to a halt at that point.
Anyone of you know of neat tricks to regaining motivation, aswell as handy drawing guides? I'm already following one on Youtube which is helpful to refresh my memory on most of the techniques I learned in the past, but I'd love to see if there's a consistent guide that's reportedly helped a lot of people in the same situation.
I don't know much about guides and tutorials. Different things appeal to different people and there is just soooooo much that you can potentially learn. If you're interested in drawing people however, I found that binge-drawing poses from here (

For the motivation part, how about you show people the things you draw? Unlos' idea about taking part in the art improvement challenge is a very good one! When I joined the forum I could hardly draw worth a lick of salt, and made a promise similar to yours to draw every day until I got better (Draw at least something every day, no matter how small, and produce one colour picture each week and post it online). I think your goal of an hour each day may be a bit much, especially since life just loves curveballs, but to draw a little each day is certainly doable ^_^ When I became brave enough to share what I'd drawn, and people said nice things about it, it really pushed me to create more, even on bad days, and a year and a half of keeping that up it really does look like there's been a lot of progress
(and I totally managed a coloured picture a week for the year, even during dissertation week where I had maybe 12 hours of sleep the whole week < totally bragging here, but I am so so proud of that accomplishment you guys have no idea >"< )
i have no command rights until this ship is sunken and i dearly wish to get to hammerfest before that fact
Can you just let them know in advance? Have a little plaque for the eventual explorers who will find the ship sunken and surrounded by sea beasts "If sunk, please return to Haiz, rightful owner and badass extrodinaire". Seeing as you're there anyway.....
