Yaay, I made the picture work!
Ooh, lovely!
I think if the Mage authorities came to me and forced me to pick just one place though, I'd go for a strongly built wooden cabin at the end of an upland finger lake, at night, with a blizzard blowing outside. Outside it's horrible, but inside it's nice and warm with a fire blazing and the wind and snow battering ineffectually against the windows. There's plenty of books, a nice warm bed and no need to get up in the morning (since there never is a morning).
This also sounds super nice.

You know the Cairngorms? Wonderful area. Which in turn reminds me somewhat of Callanish.

Yeah, I used to live about an hour's drive east of the Cairngorms so I used to go to them a fair bit.

As a kid I had to ride down a chairlift in the Cairngorms in a blizzard. It was somewhat... uncomfortable   ;D

A vast hub, looking like something out of an early 20th century surrealist painting, with chaotic and diverse structures of wildly incoherent styles that somehow all manage to blend in to a single organic whole, with a series of gates leading to a series of more coherent, themed areas, such as a waterfall, a dark futuristic city, an ancient lost temple being reclaimed by nature an an island floating in the depths of the sky at dusk.

YESSSSSSSSSSSS

But seriously, as much as I love nature and forests and all that, I don't think I could ever properly choose one biome or even forsake an urban landscape. Sooooo, my hub would be a shed of sorts, a cot to wake up on but not much else. Outside, many places. A forest of easily climbable trees, a futuristic metropolis, an open desert of windswept dunes, a grassland, a wintry plain with bare trees and powdery snow. Ideally there would be cats in all of these places. If I walked far enough, I could find even more landscapes.

Mine would probably be Fern Canyon or something like it.
Spoiler because of a lot of pictures.

It's at the Northern California Coast. It's where Jurassic Park and parts Of Star Wars (the Ewok Village) were filmed.

I wondered about that! Looks like some of the vegetation around Big Sur, or the wetter bits of the redwood forests?

It's a lot farther north than that, almost in Oregon. But it is in the Redwoods.

I wondered. It reminded me of Muir Woods, but even greener and fernier.
I  need to get out in my own neighborhood more.

This is a hard question for me, except really not. Spoiler because hueg image.
Spoiler: show

Never actually been to Scotland though, though I am mostly of Scottish heritage.

Rugged, almost fantastical hills and jagged peaks, with a modest castle. The castle has a massive library, a few games and movies both old and new in a massive home theater, and an airfield with all manners of warplanes, each one in immaculate condition. There's also a racetrack filled with hundreds of cars and parts to modify them with. Lastly, there's a long, winding road twisting its ways through the hills and mountains, over rivers and around lakes. It moves in a wide, slow circle with the castle at one end and a small road town filled with small road town things, stores, and restaurants - this changes depending on my mood and what's happened to me recently. Or if I just want a change of pace.
