Lúðvík is a specialist in the translation of old world volumes into Icelandic. As such, he has acquired quite a wide historical knowledge of the times before the rash, and as the result has become quite appalled by the state of ignorance of his contemporaries. Because of this, he tends to be arrogant and to treat all protocol and seriousness with disdain and derision when they come from people who he deems ignorants —an attitude that tend to isolate him; not that he minds too much. He's nonetheless quite sough after for his services as a translator.
In spite of his lack of immunity, he frequently travels to Denmark to sell his services and acquire recently discovered books to translate. He's not a fan of the Swedish cleansers' scorched earth policy, and wishes more money would be invested into book retrieval expedition in the silent world.
On his free time, he works on a monumental, multi-volume book titled "A Comprehensive History Of The Old World, Along With a Rectification Of The Most Common Misconceptions On The Subject"; while most of the book only really cover 19th and 20th century Europe, it will nonetheless become an important academic reference a few decades after Lúðvík's death.
