It's easy to keep symmetrical if you start with a rectangle slightly taller than it's wide (I used a 350x400 file here) and cross it first into four parts, then divide again horizontally into equal eighths like so
and then draw lines from the top to the lowest horizontal line and vice versa like so
basically done, just connect the empty bits and yay you have the thing
Are all of these referenced from the comic? Most of them look familiar, but a handful don't, especially the ones with fire. My favourite is the landscape in the bottom right corner, and I also don't recognize that.
Some of them are, the rest are a mixture of comic stuff drawn from memory and vaguely Nordic-y hotchpotch that I added off the top of my head >.< The fire in the lower left corner is based on the cleanser ad, the burning viking ship I just added today in honour of Mamacat, and the landscape in the lower right is generic-Finnish-lake-district referenced from an early aRTD page
I loved Dea Reina's '10 years older' so much that I did the team's 10-year anniversary reunion as well. Because I could.
