Thanks Róisín and Mirasol! I really love to do new things that I never tried before, and the waves, water and sediment turned out as really enjoyable to draw. The waves... not exactly realistic, but since they looked a bit cartoonish I decided that adding the speech bubble would fit well. :) I also remembered walking on the water at the beach and looking at the sediment my steps raised, which helped a lot.

Thanks Róisín! I'm working on the story... :)

Changing subject, another thing I did recently was a pic of a character from my last story (at the Chapter Break Filler), a nice squirrel that works as a Moderator in Oak Town's Forum and tries to help the protagonist...




This one is dedicated to our dear Wave, that mentioned always imagining the famous Mod Hat as a baseball cap! I just had to (try to) draw it! :)
(sketch and lineart by hand + digital colours)

Note: Previously posted at the Forum's Art Museum because the "Squirrelverse" feels, to me, as something quite independent from SSSS. But the story effectively happens in the SSSS timeline, as pointed by Jitter and Róisín, so here it is. :)

I originally painted this for a friend whom I met because I guess we were both around the same age and on twitter and into SSSS at the time? Well, there isn't a very cohesive SSSS fanbase on twitter. Anyway, the setting was a photo study of some place that I encountered last summer on a hiking trip with my sister. It was very pretty when I saw it, so I took a picture. Basically, this would've been a tourist postcard with Emil and Lalli inserted in, but I scrapped it and forgot it in my drawer for a year because our friendship had moved well beyond just being into the same webcomic. I found it the other day and figured it'd be a shame to not let anyone see it because I do think it's quite pretty (even though I don't really draw SSSS fanart anymore), so here you go!

We were both also somewhat fond of the ship, but y'know, I was never too great at portraying romance.

And thanks, Mirasol, I'm glad you liked it! If I had more time I would draw all the other characters too... BTW the hat model actually was Wave's idea. (I always thought the Mod Hat would be tall, mad hatter-style. ;) )

woAAH catbirds, that’s so cool!!!!! Aa the colors and shadows and shapes all go together so well
I like how Lalli and Emil kinda blend into the landscape, too (they are ~one with the forest~ hehe)

(I confirm that my headcanon for the mod hat is generally a ball cap.  It is just so, but cannot be called a verra nize hat.)
