Owl, I love your owlonnis and Lallilynxes, your doodles have such good humor and timing, always making me laugh. Windfighter, it is so great to see your art, the funny or sad situations you make and put the crew in. Gwennooo, oh my Emil is rocking that dress! So good to see some of your art again. Tr, more Onni yess!

Aaand do you know what day it is today? Well I do! It is the 22nd september, meaning it is EQUINOX, almost equal day and night! Of the autumnal variety here in the northern hemisfere.  And between flooding, driving, spring festivals, and a course of abdominal radiology Róisín have made an illustrated poem for the occasion:

Spoiler: Lyrics and details of the leaves • show

AUTUMN EQUINOX POEM

HARVEST

Ere this Autumn turns to Winter,
Favour from the Gods we ask.
Weak we are, and ill provisioned:
Fools set at a hero's task.

Man or woman, warrior, scholar,
All must labour with a will.
If we wish to see the springtime
Each will need their every skill.

Orchard trees revert to forest.
Fallen leaves on bending grass
Hide rich windfalls for our gleaning.
Search the hedges as we pass.

Shrivelled pears and withered apples
Autumn's gift to man and beast;
Ripening rosehips, frosted buckthorn:
These will grace our winter feast.

Seek for fungi in the forest.
Find, perhaps, a rich reward:
Bitter beechmast, luscious hazel
In the squirrel's hidden hoard.

Seek out game that roams the forest.
Blade and shot and tangling snare
Give us meat when snow lies deepest:
Rabbit, squirrel, deer and hare.
Still and silent on the streambank
Tickle trout from shadowed lair.

Gather books to learn their secrets:
Wisdom snatched from grossling hives.
Find, concealed in mouldering pages
Knowledge that will save our lives.

Eeeeeeeee! I actually realised what day it was this morning and was hoping that there would be something like this appearing :D You've both produced something beautiful yet again, and I'm so glad that you managed to find time to make it ^_^ Thank you!!!!! Oh!  You put in the rosehips!

And I think I recognize some of the foraging details from JStevens' story too?  Or else it is all just great minds thinking alike, but either way, I'm delighted.

I remember enough of Autumn foraging in Northern Europe to put in the little details in the poem. Unlos as always paints awesome nature, and the Minnions are a constant source of inspiration!

Thank you, making this felt important, so I'm glad you like it!
Oh!  You put in the rosehips!
And I think I recognize some of the foraging details from JStevens' story too?  Or else it is all just great minds thinking alike, but either way, I'm delighted.
I didn't read that story, but those details felt natural for the crew, so I'm not surprised more people have had the same idea. And the rosehips was inspired by a tight deadline, I copied the whole rosebush layer (I love love digital painting layers!) from the summer project, changed the colors and shadows and added rosehips on the places were the buds and flowers had been, and instant autumn rosebush, hooray!
I remember enough of Autumn foraging in Northern Europe to put in the little details in the poem. Unlos as always paints awesome nature, and the Minnions are a constant source of inspiration!
Thank you, I have grown fonder and fonder of making the nature backgrounds. And your poems are really inspiring, too!
Awesome artwork with beautiful poetry! Lovely as always. Thanks for such an awesome project, Unlos, Róisín!
You're welcome, and thank you for getting links to the other poems as well  :)

Windfighter, glad you liked it. I'd be up for doing other stuff, as life permits, if Unlos is up for it and we have a theme, but likely not soon. I'm flat-chat with real life stuff at the moment, and I think Unlos is also pretty busy. But I like the idea. And your pictures are funny! Lalli and Emil in dresses, oh dear!

Jureeya, that is cute, even if I don't ship them myself (though if I ever get things posting again, there's a fic I want to put up....)

Wyrm, Helia, Minutia, Gwenno, Buteo, glad you liked it. And Luth, thanks again for doing the links. I can't make them work.

And Gwenno, that swirly-dress take on Windfighter's picture is great!

Oh, no worries, I didn't mean right away anyway! You just make wonderful working-togethers and it'd be fun to see more whenever you find inspiration/time/whatever you need ;)

I have no excuse for Emil in a dress, Lalli on the other hand is because my mind started connecting This Song with him... *sweatdrop*

Today didn't end with any pretty boy in a dress, but instead on a more shippy note. On the bright side, no torturing of any character either!
