I drew this as an inkwash exercise for my inking class, and was kind of proud of it since I've never inkwashed a portrait before:

(My teacher was so impressed with it that he showed it off to the class, but I don't want to brag)

Too late, you're bragging! :D
I would show it off to my class too if my student made that. Very emotional, I love it.

Not gonna lie, that dessert island made me laugh really hard (I love it when I get jokes!). And I love the little textures you add with the pen-- the plates on the armor, the fish person's hair jewelry. very nice.

Oh, I meant to post some art but I got sidetracked and forgot... ha.

Anyways, I'll put it under the cut.

Spoiler: show

soooooo basically all of this stuff is very stylistically off for me. When my art changes like this it always looks terrible for a long time and then finally looks waaaaay better, so my sister calls it "art upgrading". That said, even though none of these are really the way I wanted them to turn out, I like them.

Also, all of this stuff is featuring the characters from my comic. These two guys are cousins. I drew it for my cover on Tapastic, since for the last three or four months I've just had a badly cropped pre-Tapas illustration.

Christmas stuff, featuring them all apron. 15 years younger then in the comic... because I like drawing kids. Kids are great.

And I'm posting this because it's the hardest thing I've drawn in a long time. This character gets significantly less face time than most of the rest of the cast, mostly just because he wears an oxygen mask a lot. So I have very little practice drawing his facial expressions. He's also a hugely overenthusiastic liar who hates his face and tries to hide all of his negative emotions, so drawing expressions other then "REALLY ENTHUSIASTIC SMILE FOR THE CAMERA!!!!" is kind of... something Ive never done for him before.

Piney: That's a beautiful portrait you made! I can see why the teacher wanted to show it off!

Curry: Love the curls on the middle drawing especially! I imagine Rose Quartz's hair is a blast to draw ^-^

Noodly: DRAGONS! And other mythical creatures! They all look really cool (and I really like the blues on the fairy person)Dessert Island, pffffhahaha! That's wonderful!

Miss Honeyham: So Christmas-y! I really like the way you did the textures in your drawings, it looks very cool. And those are some adorable sweaters your characters are wearing!

I was going to not post this because I made it for a friend (hopefully as her profile picture when she finally joins the forum), but I really like how it turned out, so here goes!
