Plans for Minna's Birthday!

Happy very belated birthday Minna!

hey y'all,
I wasn't sure exactly which board this should go in so I hedged my bets?? tell me if it needs movin, I guess, haha.

But I was thinking since Minna's tweets/descriptions have mentioned she hasn't been feeling too hot lately, would anyone be up for compiling some fanworks (music mixes, art/writing, etc etc) as a kind of 'thank you feel better' minnabomb? I remember doing this in the hetalia fandom wayyyy back when for its creator, haha. I know that there are a lot of art trades and swaps going on though, so if you're busy that's fine. Just floatin the idea across I guess? (I wouldn't know when to make the deadline though, since, again, there's a a secret santa AND an advent calendar going on because apparently this fandom goes hard, so maybe after christmas?)

aw I think writing would be ok as long as you put a creative commons disclaimer on it/it wasn't speculative (I haven't checked creator/fanfic stuff in a while)? and there's always other types of fanworks

I'm up for poetry. Perhaps a meditation on the creative process, in verse? Or a drinking song for Sigrun's hall? Or an anthem for the Cleansers? Could do any.

OH yeah, I wanted to draw for that too, however I gave up because I drew something but I closed it without saving and all lost, I didn't feel like restarting and the time was kinda up to do one.... so never did any. that was pretty recent thing....

but we could do that, however that one was a big thing, many arts put into a big one, which was printed and the printed poster was sent to himaruya.
that would be pretty cool to send to Minna, but can we even do that? like getting his address and send that to her?

or anyway, what you were even planning to do? like what else you would do? something specific? like we all draw/write/else in some kind of topic? or just random? how we collect them and show/send to her?

I wonder if she comes to the forum and check into some threads and she would see this, then no surprise? lol

Hmm, I think we're thinking of different events. The one I'm thinking of was in 2009, or maybe it was 2010? I can't actually remember. But it was a long time ago. It was an internet-only gift, no printing.

My assumption was that Shoop meant an internet-only thing as well. So, it would just be a matter of making a thread on the forum for it, and everyone putting their fanwork in the thread, and then someone would send the link to Minna. Shoop, can you confirm?

I don't think she comes here very often at all, but if you all are worried about her seeing the surprise, you can always ask one of the staff to move it to the personal board so it will only show up to members. I'm pretty sure she doesn't have an account (though I could be wrong!)

I'd love to do this, but real life responsibilities won't let me. :\ I'll cheer you all on from the sidelines, though!
