No, I usually use only one at a time, or just a handful, really, when I want a bigger light. I have a lot of books in my room - nice, dry paper - and I also have to clear everything away before I let the cats back in, so it wouldn't be practical.

No -. and even if I had, most tabletops are at knee to hip height. Perfect to light up the hem of a vest or jacket ...

Yep.  I've got a few of them rotating on my laptop's backgrounds, among the dozens of  photographs I've found online.
