7.10. Knight of Pentacles (U)

Well well, who’s laughing now? They said this is a difficult location, but we showed them all! Ha, just try and stop me setting up where I want to! And no calling me crazy, you hear me? No, they don’t hear, they are far away, cowering under blankets, counting on our protection.

Was easy too, with all these pieces lying around. Just need some solid planning, a knack for balancing things, and of course my friends. And now, some flowers to liven up the place, and herbs for tea of course. Come friends, we’ll be comfortable here! No more complaints.

Jitter, am I right in assuming the "complains" the hero of your latest drabble refers to are complaints about the noise and, er, digestive output produced by his friends?

Jitter, my vote is on it being the other expert in the interwiew for 6. Tehta already got the solution for 7, but I have to mention that that one made me laugh out loud. :'D Yeah, you go, gull-sentinel! Nothing can stop you settling where you want with help of the power of a thousand wings!

RM, two happy(ish) scenes for Arthur! Good for him!

Wave, I just noticed now you gave little comments to all the cards! Which I feel like I should bring to attention cuz that´s even more source of inspiration! And you put so much work in for the prompts of this challenge, I can only say thank you again!




6: The High Priestess

Another turnaround-card. Quite difficult to be a Chosen One when everything that´s supposed to help you is either refusing to speak to you or so much lost to history that judging the risk of using it correctly is impossible.
(Have I mentioned I love the Legend of Zelda this week? )



7: Knight of Pentacles

I was barely home at all yesterday. So I´m afraid I have just a quick, silly doodle for this one. Our very practical captain with mostly earned ease, though just a cat and not quite a horse (inspired by the chibi-stickers). It was her birthday after all.



Nje, I´m not very happy with either of these... But well, the point is to keep drawing and not to be perfect.

7 - Knight of Pentacles - (U) Practicality / (R) Unearned Ease

Onni, Just managed to get hired by the military at Keuruu. Despite some criticisms.  Looking at his shift schedule he will be working a double for the next couple of weeks.   That Senior mage that was from Iceland was a bit full of herself, but no one can call any Hotakainen lazy or useless.  He knows, he will show them.

8 - 5 of Pentacles - (U) Poverty / (R) Alternatives

Onni, Lalli, and Tuuri , now released from the quarantine ship, faced a dilemma.  They had no place to go.  Well there was this aunt in Keuruu, or he could try and find employment here.  He had power and his sister and Lalli had skills.  He will try that.  Well it is a long walk to Keuruu.  They best get started

Mirasol, yes, it’s mr Pedrsen, appearing on Danish TV on pages 18 and 19. I think they are politicians rather than actual experts. Not that it would have made any difference. And I’m happy to hear Väinö made you smile

BTW I like both of yr drawings a lot! And earlier I forgot to comment on the spider card, it’s really impressive! And could well be partially of an actual deck.

8.10. Five of Pentacles (U)

I hate this! I’m cold and hungry all the time. I miss my things, and all my pretty clothes. And television! Even books. Now everything is boring and scary. And damp. I hate having nothing. They say we are lucky to be alive at all, but I think being this poor sucks.

If we survive and I get on with my life, I’ll never be poor again! I will start a business, maybe a shop, or build a mine or a wind turbine. I will be rich and happy! And warm, and have good food and cake whenever I want!

Mirasol, I am loving the drawings! Especially Sigrun. I miss her.

She later went on to to dedicate her life to material prosperity and drilled the importance of wealth into her children too. Everyone deals with their trauma differently.

The horror of what happened became intertwined with the poor conditions in her child’s mind, and ever since that terrible winter, feeling the first pangs of hunger always filled her with a nameless dread.

(Actually this is not poverty at all, everyone lost everything so no one was poor or rich for a while. But Mia was a child and didn’t understand that)

8: Alternatives

Upon my brother´s request, I´ve made Xenoblade Chronicles 3 fanart. (He currently plays the game and I find the plot interesting, so I watch.) It´s a little spoilery though so I´ll leave it under a cut.

Spoiler: show

The main characters of this game form a sort of unit called "Ouroboros". They can take its form by two of them basically fusing together. It´s not always the same form though, it depends on the skills of its "components" and who is currently in charge of the fusion. The different alternatives have varied use in fights, so you´ll have to think about which one to set up next. (Or so I assume. I´m mostly here for the cutscenes. :'D )
This one is the main-form of Taion (my brother´s favorite character) together with Eunie. We both agree it´s the coolest Ouroboros-design. My favorite character is Senna though, so I might draw her at a later point this month.

9: Six of Cups

I am not nearly as sorry about this purposefull misinterpretation of the prompt as I probably should be.
These are some of my favorite teacups, plus one of my mom´s favorite teacups (the one with the birds) that I also think is really pretty. I especially like the Tyrannosaurus though, because it becomes see-through when you pour hot liquid into it to reveal the skeleton of the dinosaur underneath it, which is such a cool effect.

9.10. Six of Cups (U)

I knew it! I always knew something like this was coming. Who’s the crazy one now?

Too bad this is not an enjoyable victory. Maybe I can indulge in just a bit of imagining certain people trying to escape it all, only to realize they have nowhere to go to. (But only a bit, mind you. Apocalypse is not a funny thing.) No supplies, no training, not even a plan. Sorry to say, but it’s too late now. At this point you should have years of preparation. Lucky for us we have been so sensible. We get the last laugh!


10.10. Six of Wands (U)

Oh give me strength! Kids nowadays! How is it even possible to be so young, healthy and able-bodied, and so completely useless at the same time? They all have their fancy university studies and posh hobbies, but if there’s one person among them that could survive in the wild for longer than a weekend trek, I’m flabbergasted! Lucky for them I got here before it was too late. Someone has to run this show! I may be old, but there’s still enough spark in me to keep them alive for now. Assuming they do what I tell them to do!


Mirasol, I’m sure you already guessed but I love the teacups! The character(s) is cool too.

9 - 6 of Cups - (U) Strength from the Past / (R) Refusal of Childhood

To be sure his sister and cousin would never be forced to leave, Onni made sure they had positions at the base.  Unfortunately, that meant they would be treated as adults.  Well..we all had to suck up to survive.  We all can do without the frivorities of the young


10 - 6 of Wands - (U) A Leader Arises / (R) Leaderlessness
Mikkel and Sigrun were unhappy they were stuck in the old world church.  Sigrun still does not understand how Reynir took control of the situation. 

Well at least the fire is warm

11 - The Chariot - (U) Imposition of Will / (R) Lack of Self-Discipline

Lalli was stuck in his head.  He needed to work hard to make sure they both stayed safe.  How could Lalli stand the noise! He felt that he was useless, not being able to withstand the grosslings.

Lalli told him he needed practice and that Lalli will keep Emil going.
