seed vault!! GUSH!!

I feel sad that Emil's only exposure to marriages were ones that were not happy (Though maybe I misunderstood.  I thought Reynir's mom and dad were happy...but he did not know the language.)

I like how Mikkel does not fret about his and Sigrun's relationship.  She just keeps track of it for him :D

I hop Emil does let his relatives know he will do his own thing.. That may still bug him, but he got it out.

I can only imagine what Onni has been telling him LOL

Thanks, dmeck! I have a part-written story about the seed vault mission around somewhere (it is my #1 contender for a cool Adventure Three).

And I agree, I think Reynir's parents are happy. As are Torb and Siv, in their way. Emil's parents were not, that's almost-canon (if Minna's late comments count as canon), but I am not sure he even realizes that. I think that, for the Emil in my story, the real problem is that he grew up very isolated, worth little chance to see how marriages (or even families) work. So all he has are some half-formed ideas that don't really map very well to how Lalli works.

But, anyway, this was a comedy, so you can assume the whole story ends happily.

Thanks, dmeck! I have a part-written story about the seed vault mission around somewhere (it is my #1 contender for a cool Adventure Three).

I would love to read that adventure.  I am unsure if there are other vaults other than Svalbard, or your adventure could just include a sea adventure :)

When I did that for the prompt of the week it was something small, but it could be an amazing adventure story.

And I agree, I think Reynir's parents are happy. As are Torb and Siv, in their way. I would be among the people who think Emil's parents were not happy.  I think Lalli parents were happy.  Lalli is his own person and definitely follows his own path.  Emil and Lalli workign their way together is the best

But, anyway, this was a comedy, so you can assume the whole story ends happily.
Emil and Lalli and a happy ending...what more do we need :)

This is a bit late, but still. Mikkel.

Personnel File: Mikkel Madsen                                                            p. 28/84

Subject
Team evaluation. Mission: Silent World Expedition 1, Y91

Description
The team travelling with Madsen in this mission consisted of four military personnel representing the Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish military forces. Furthermore included in the team at later stages of the mission was one human civilian (Icelander) and one wild-born cat.

The following contains anonymous evaluations of Madsen's skills and conduct during the mission, given by all human team members except for the team mechanic, who is deceased. Due to the small size of the surviving team, the civilian team member was also asked for an evaluation.

Team member A

Good:  cleaning, carrying, catching, cats, calm

Bad: fighting, Finnish

Really bad: cooking

Team member B

Mikkel is a really nice person! He is helpful and very knowledgeable. And he let me help! Also he knows a lot about the Silent World and Trolls and many other interesting things! He taught me many important things during the mission, such as "don't lick you arm if it has been near a troll". He is able to provide food from meager provisions. His food doesn't necessarily taste very good but it kept us all going! Except for Tuuri of course, but that was not Mikkel's fault. It wasn't anyone's fault. Really it wasn't!

He's not very keen on magic, which was a bit disappointing for me. But all in all he is a great guy. And Kitty likes him too! That must count for something!

I would be glad to travel with Mikkel again, anywhere in the world.

Team member C

Madsen is a great pair of hands for all support functions (except cooking! Seriously, don't ever make him a cook again. Ever.). He is strong and usually level-headed and has a delightful sense of humor! Unfortunately he's useless with any sort of weapon. Don't give him weapons. Sometimes he's prone to mutiny so strong discipline and decisive leadership may be needed. Great looks too.

Team member D

As a fellow rational thinker, Mikkel was at times welcome company during the bizarre mission. At other times he was acting weird and made serious mistakes such as claiming that a mere bruise may result in face cancer. He's strong and clear headed for a Dane. Practical approach to things, unfortunately including how many beds are needed for six people and one cat.

Note from cat wrangler at base

The wildling cat the team procured during the mission was in good condition and clearly had been taken good care of. Presumably much of this task was undertaken by Madsen whose duties included feeding, cleaning etc. of the team. Appears Madsen is well capable of taking care of a cat.

Well that was fun, but now I want to read everyone's evaluations of everyone  (I also think self-evals should be required.)

Hi! So many great stories to read! I'll comment later, ok?

Meanwhile I'm working on Lalli's story, and I suddenly had one more inspiration for Mikkel, even if a (large) bit late...

(I know, probably someone already did something like that, but I just couldn't resist...)

Well, some of the totally anonymous team members did reference something on those lines, but zero Star Wars jokes so far so you’re good!

I had a StarWars joke! About Mikkel being Emil's father, though. I have never seen this particular joke, and especially not in reference to paintball... Hee.

And how about coming up with future prompts? Grey, anything that would fit your Lalli story?

We could just make it Lalli and be done with it?

Who doesn't like Lalli stories :)
