'Giffen', not 'Given'!
Are you a law clerk, or a
Starbucks barrista?

Spoiler: show
There have been plenty of lines that seemed far harder to me than this one! But I hope people get it.
I rarely go to Starbucks, but when I do, even my easy-in-most-languages name gets mangled sometimes.

tehta and Jitter, re spoilers:

Spoiler: show
Actually, I took that as a very clever response to the meaning, since IMO fancy coffee is a Giffen good.

Thorny,
Spoiler: show
fancy coffee is not a Giffen good but a Veblen good, which apparently works the same re price elasticity, but for opposite reasons. Giffen goods are inferior staples. Still, it was very clever!

under your own misery

"It's too difficult"
Said Hanrahan that morning
"We'll all be ruined"

Spoiler: show
It should have been "We'll all be rooned," but then it wouldn't have scanned.

For all was burnt¹,
the bakers earmarked the lot:
"Hannu will eat it!"

(¹ Isn't that just four syllables?)
