Well that was ducking rude.
A flash of anger momentarily burns away Marianne's nervousness and she opens her mouth to tell the little nerd she speaks Icelandic, she's CLEARLY female unless you think these massive goddamn tits are fake, and you're ducking right you're not officer material.
Then she decides she'd rather not be fired again, shuts her mouth without saying anything, and stomps back to her spot against the wall, blushing and scowling ferociously.
And knocks the skis over again.
Oliver steps around her to face Saga, looking down at her, but still trying to seem supportive.
"And? At least you've got some knowledge of the world at large. I didn't even know..." He glances back at the map he was just studying "...France existed until five minutes ago. You're smart and resourceful enough to put this expedition together, so you're intelligent and resourceful enough to lead it. Military experience doesn't matter, those of us that have it are all from different countries and services anyway. We all thought you were the captain when we arrived, so prove us right."
The unexpected weight of the cat on her back causes Astrid to lose her balance and topple to the floor once more.
"I'm okay!" she exclaims, bringing the cat off her back and into her lap, grabbing a handful of treats from her bag. She offers them to him, petting him on the head softly.
The strong lady is coming over near Doc, so he moves over to give her more space.. the clattering of the skis makes him jump almost a foot. He hates meetings like this.
"You're the navigator, yes? Perhaps you could be in charge of the ship and someone else could be in charge of the military expeditions." He's retreating into his sweater already, in anticipation of someone yelling at him. This crew is more.. boisterous than his previous coworkers.
Crap... alright, so she made at least one person angry already, and two members of the expedition are clumsy. At best.
She takes a deep breath, considering what has been said.
The captain and her would have had to constantly consult with each other to decide on what to do. She never met the man and had no clue how he worked, or if he would even listen to her input. Seeing his character from how he quit the expedition, she is actually somewhat relieved she doesn't have to work with him.
She knows enough about the route and dangers ahead of them.
She has engineers and helmswomen whose input she will consider when making decisions.
Doc... made sense.
That, or she is insane.
Both? Probably not.
Welp."I can agree to be in charge, if you all agree that you want me to be. Knowing and considering all the facts I have already said about myself." She says that in both Norwegian and Icelandic. First decision should probably be to delay the journey for a day until they at least make an attempt to find another person to be their captain.
