Because hair is the most wonderful thing you could possibly draw

Drawing hair is very relaxing to me, because it allows me to just zone out for a while. This started out as a doodle, and then I just kept working on it on the bus, during lessons, while waiting for a friend and so on.

I was fooling around with Photoshop/filters/random strokes, I ended up with this, it's also my icon:
  https://www.weasyl.com/~eungi/submissions/868647/8790738ffd4e55df70a1228c5d17350dd795ad2abcde76e88c0fa6fc1b560edd/eungi-icon-forum.png
Surprisingly, making these effects was pretty easy, and helps me to cool down before I head off for bed. :)
Half-crumbled I guess: :southkorea:

This is the homework project that kept me up all weekend, thought some of y'all might appreciate it:
(it's in the same vein as the panel I recreated)

The assignment was to do a movie poster, and I since couldn't make it SSSS-related, I was inspired by a conversation on here about this movie :)

Did you create every element by hand, like you did with the Sigrunhand in your previous assignment?
If so, that's amazing!

(I still want the blown-up Sigrunscene on a coffee mug.  Or a purse, or a pair of shoes... except I'm probably not fashion-forward enough to rock art shoes...)
"The music of what happens," said great Fionn, "that is the finest music in the world."

Yeah, it's the same technique! Don't ask me how long it took, or the state of my hand.

This looks like a legit movie poster, and just about creepy enough to be one of those old not-actually-horror-but-still-pretty-eerie movies.

Careful there, that's what an "I" did look like in some of the fonts that were still around when "Metropolis" was made. ;)

Thanks! Sure as hell it was a lot of work :P
And yeah, the text is all traced, I didn't do any translating or anything.

Yesterday, I bought the book "Nordiska väsen" (roughly "Nordic Spirits") by Swedish artist Johan Egerkrans. It features his interpretations of traditional Nordic/Scandinavian sprites, gnomes, goblins, trolls and the like. Here are a few samples:

He appears to have been inspired by classic artists like Arthur Rackham and John Bauer, but he has a distinctive personal style. Gorgeous book!
